I'm not a HAM fan, and will respect the challenges of a black guy making it in F1 and give him credit for being a 7 time champ, but come on. You follow the rules or you don't drive at this point. He can make all the fashion, political, or whatever statements he wants, but I don't support ignoring any safety rules. Even if the question of jewelry in a high speed accident or fire is DEBATABLE, the rules are the rules.

    Weather update. Chances of rain.

    FP1: 20%
    FP2: 20%, rising to 40% by 6pm local
    FP3: 0%
    QUAL: 40%
    RACE: 40%

This broad guidance is superced by short-range forecasts/rain risk issued 15 mins before each session.

This doesn't concern Hamilton only; apparently Gasly also raised an objection to that ruling.

The FIA is going beyond its prerogative, IMO, and should compromise a bit on this matter.

It should simply ask the drivers who don't wish to conform to sign a disclaimer, and everybody would be happy.

This!! Ham needs to understand that F1 is not some fashion show. He can organise his own private shows or take part in other shows and wear all his jewellery from top top bottom. FiA won't question a zilch about it. But when its for your own safety which brings FiA into scrutiny, you should follow the rules.
This "My way or the highway" attitude makes him an unsporty person.

What if some unruly incident happens despite signing a disclaimer? Questions will still be raised about how bad fia is when it comes to implementing rules, especially when it comes to safety and security.
FiA is just asking him to not wear his jewellery during the race days. He can wear it all along during other days.

F1 needs more James Hunt and fewer corporate stoodges. I miss the 70’s. Is that other guy Nigel Mansell? (just kidding) ;)

Who made this risk assesment, and Who came out with these rules?

I think the drivers are the best to decide what's unsafe for them, and it's probably not an ear stud or a nose ring !

Do you understand what a disclaimer is? It absolves other parties of any liability.

The FIA has other safety issues to solve before enforcing what I consider a silly rule.

I fear if the FIA obtains that in F1, it will soon be imposed in other forms of motor racing by zealous officials enclined to show their authority.

FYI, some forms of jewellery can only be removed surgically.
