That S corner by the bridge was pretty cringe
So I heard on Twitter Ferrari *did* use a new rear wing. It didn't look like it, but if true, what a waste of money.
I have to say it doesn't 'feel' or 'look' at all like a Miami Grand Prix. Looks more like the 'Florida Grand Prix', or even the 'Central Florida Grand Prix'.
Well they brought the new wing, used it and kept it on according to AMuS so probably worked as expected. Could be they’re not chasing top speed but DF because of the heat and the low grip surface.
Seriously!!! Comparing 70's where rules were still formulated to make F1 safer to the present era. I like you analogy
Yes, I do know what absolves mean. Still, if any untoward incident happens to an absolved driver, fingers will be pointed at the FiA for giving leeway and bringing this mess upon itself for showing leniency. Rules are for everyone, no special treatment. Frankly, if he felt so strongly about it, he should have stopped participating in this GP. Shows his hypocrisy. He has been given time to remove them. That's adjustment. He could have shown more maturity talking it straight to the officials instead of raising all hue and cry by going public.
If you follow the track route the accident is behind the marshal post and he is waving the track is clear after the accident. Image Unavailable, Please Login
The team were as far as they were before in straight line speed. There are conflicting reports over whether the new rear wing is actually being used or not. It certainly didn't look new from the photos, so it's possible the team are saving it for FP3. Hopefully that's the case, or Ferrari are in trouble.
This ruling dates from 2005, apparently. It had never been applied, to my knowledge. Suddenly a new race director turns up and wants to enforce it, and there is one driver it affects the most. Do you see what I am getting at ? No, you probably don't ...
They taking the bling off the drivers ..in Miami ...whilst building fake marina .cant make this bs up
I see your point William. The fact of the matter is Lewis's approach to this 2005 rule. There has been no discussion between Lewis and MBS or both race directors about the matter. Now, you've got Vettel "protesting" by wearing his underwear outside his uniform at the MiamiGP because of this 2005 rule. You don't get your point across to MBS and both race directors by protesting what you may think is an "outdated" or a "stupid" rule. You discuss it diplomatically to the FIA behind closed doors instead of drawing attention to it of a rule that's been in place before these drivers started to walk as a child.
It's grandstanding by the FIA to look like they have a clue about safety. Could they be more self unaware? The FIA wants to look like they take safety seriously, when the fact of the matter is they've been disgracefully behind other racing series for decades. They have no fire crew worth a damn, and cars routinely burn up. If Grosjean's crash had happened on another lap, where the medical car wasn't right behind him, or if he had gotten trapped, he wouldn't be here alive. He would've burned alive in that car. Not only that, safety crews untrained, they're not trained in rescuing drivers professionally like in Indycar and NASCAR. It's been amatuer hour for safety in F1 for decades. The FIA needs to invest in a fire crew and traveling medical crew worth a ****, instead of harassing drivers about their necklaces and underwear. It is pathetic that the technological pinnacle of motorsports has volunteers and incompetents in charge of safety regulations. And I don't blame the marshals or the rest of the crews. It's the FIA's fault. They don't provide near enough, or invest enough in training and equipment.
