Wish I had shop space for this kind of project. Interesting to see what it ends up selling for.

    lol

Nothing like paying $30,000 for a project, sinking $80,000 in it and flipping it for $50,000

    sign me up.

It's all about the journey :) Almost none of what "car people" do makes sense.

That might be the most accurate description of "car people" I've ever seen. It's certainly true in my case!

I like the sellers legal statement under "Terms of Sale". Not sure if any of it would stick, but seems to be a bold stance for someone who only has one sale under Reviews for an account opened in Sep 25, 1999.

Any "conditions" a seller states on Ebay are wasted words if they don't correspond with Ebay rules. For example, sellers commonly state that returns are not accepted. But if the buyer finds that the item was not as described, the buyer's money is refunded by Ebay and the seller has to take it back. "Not as described" could mean a small scratch or whatever that wasn't specifically shown in the auction pics. Basically, it means that almost anything can be returned if the buyer decides he/she wants their money back.

In this case, the seller has listed the vehicle as "USED" per Ebay condition listings. Per Ebay:

Used: An item that has been used previously. The item may have some signs of cosmetic wear, but is fully operational and functions as intended. This item may be a floor model or store return that has been used. See the seller's listing for full details and description of any imperfections.

The key in this case is "fully operational and functions as intended," which this vehicle does not. So anybody who bought it COULD simply say, that it was not as described and get their money refunded. Admittedly, anyone looking at the listing would understand what they are getting so it probably wouldn't be an issue. But if buyer's remorse sets in...

Ebay is totally skewed toward buyer protection which is great if you are the buyer, not so great if you are the seller. ;)

Doesn’t the center section of the rear deck lid look folded to one side? My Euro doesn’t have this piece so nothing to compare it to except the memory of my 82 GTSi. Seems strange that bits and pieces are removed over entire car. Why would this be? Complete repaint?

    Nothing wrong with project cars.

The issue are the people that think it's economically feasible to turn one of our cars like that one, into a profit.

    Those people I call victims.

What are those seats? Are they from a Ferrari I'm not familiar with or are something else entirely?

Looks like bad recovers to me totally wrong . The car had 65000 miles back in 2001-2002 before it was in an accident and then it seems was taken apart and forgotten. So maybe repaired then not finished due to funds? Then it sat forever.

I noticed those seats too. These are not correct. So add another 4K to the 80K restauration costs :)

Bid is currently at $27,100. Ouch.
For anyone wishing they had much less spare time and money, this should tick all the boxes. ;)

My favorite detail is the replacement turn signal/parking lights. Finding them expensive/difficult to replace when cracked, someone must have had a rush of excitement upon realizing that some replacement lenses sourced from the "help" section of Autozone happened to fit. Sort of.

Not judging. Sometimes, you do what you gotta do to keep the car on the road and the fuzz off your back.

The fun part of this is that some of us bought the 308 we have today--running and all in one piece--for the kind of money someone is going to pay for this project today. I guess if you make irrational car choices long enough, something might actually turn out looking like sound decision-making in the long run. Purely by accident though.

For less than $20k I might be interested. Already at $35k though.

I really like the first answer...."is there any rust?" NO....uh ********. There will be plenty of rust, it just may not be visible by looking at it from 15 feet away. :)

How long before the new owner shows up here asking where to get a windshield that fits?

I sent the seller a list of questions and asked for more photos They did not respond to me.

Pics and vin for historic value and for some future owner.
