Enjoy the 250 I have had mine over 10 years (1099) Remember when you drive, it is 60 years old. If you realize that when you get into the car, you will enjoy it much more Ken Goldman.

Well I just finished my first 50 miles , and feel privileged to document my experience! Once I confirmed how to start, ( my first time in a 250 ) .. I gripped the thin wooden steering wheel in a death grip and slowly coasted forward . The brakes , steering, clutch, all felt smooth and functional. With confidence, I worked thru the gears to 60 mph and was pleasantly surprised to the “ Mercedes “ feel of the shocks , suspension, and ride quality . I went about 10 miles in traffic before hitting the freeway. The acceleration was strong as my courage to push the rpm’s increased. The power is noticeable, and the overdrive has me on google trying to understand how does this work !! At 75 mph , the front started to wander along with my ass , as the car did not have seat belts . ( most certainly a first purchase ). I drove with all windows down, so the wind noise was equal to the exhaust . My mind was racing with the fact that this was a 62 year old car , that drove great , had ample interior room and could easily be driven 200 miles once my death grip relaxed . As I got closer to the end of my drive , I decided to “push it “ thru a corner .. and let’s just say , I will only do that once . It's like listening to a beautiful music on an old mid 60's amp and turn table. You hear every background noise and the flaws of the recording on the 33 but the sound is fuller and less clinical than the perfect sound systems of today. It's all about experiencing the past not comparing it to the new.
