It's only 80 litres from memory and the fuel was $1.75 ..... and yes, I drove to the fuel stop so there was fuel in it
82 litres, and $1.75? Wow! That’s cheap. Can’t remember the last time I paid less than $2 for BP98. Having said that, I don’t think I’ve ever filled up the tank in my entire 12 years of ownership.
Why? Along with having a fat bastard at the wheel and a slower gearbox that unnecessary weight certainly makes it heavier and slower than my car. I never fill it past half way. Lighter and always fresh fuel.
No, the cut-outs are at the edges, to allow air to hit the disc brakes, but the earliest ones might not have had it. The oil cooler mod, where the vertical edge of the panel is folded down horizontally, is one of the the (many) things to spot if you suspect a replica...
Ahh ok they came in 65 with an angled bar in the front and folded lip on the inside to allow for a horizontally mounted oil cooler and disk brake cooling…Basically the first of the 1275 S cars…The 970 S and 1071 S never had them..Also standard the 970S and 1071 S were single tank cars unless you ordered the optional extra second tank..1275S were standard with twin tanks…
