I just took delivery of the GTS. A little bit of background: the dealer GTS demo in 2020 had not impressed me, mostly because I found the sound disappointing. I made the mistake of removing my name off the GTS list. I decided to keep my SF coupe for the long run and be happy. I asked the dealer to transfer my deposit to another car.

I posted about this and thanks to the wealth of info on this board, it quickly became clear that canceling a convertible version of possibly the last Ferrari V-12 over a GPF issue would be a colossal error. There are so many knowledgable enthusiastic Ferrari owners on this board who actually care what other owners do.

So I got my order back in before the dealer closed the book on new orders. A big debt of gratitude to FChat for not letting me miss out on the 812 GTS. This is a phenomenal car. It doesn't have the roar of the SuperFast but I find I don't miss it. It is a more refined drive. Shifts are quicker, both up and down, and feel seamless. I have a nice spec and when I figure out how to post photos on this board, I will do so on the GTS Picture Thread.

For sheer beauty, IMO the GTS is unparalleled for a convertible.

That's incredible news...big congratulations as I have been too wondering in my sleep if I should pay the delta and go from my 812SF to a GTS.
One question though....how are the shifts quicker? Is it a different transmission than the SF or different electronics, I was not aware that it was upgraded/updated on the GTS. Maybe someone might know something about this?

You're not driving it hard enough
Seriously, I own both and I thought there was little difference in the exhaust note between the two.
Plus the GTS has the added benefit of roll down rear window - mine is basically never up.

enjoy the ride, it's a fantastic car.

I have not yet gone on a proper GTS drive.

Is your SF a 2020? Mine is pre-GPF and the difference in sound between my coupe and GTS is massive.

If the issue is the up-charge between your coupe and a used GTS, I would hold on the coupe. Because the order book on the GTS is closed, the delta between the two models is probably $300K at least, right? I don't think the delta is worth the upgrade. Besides, the coupe is an amazing car and owners should not sell :)

The GTS transmission definitely feels faster than the coupe, though I have yet to take the GTS on a fast drive.

Shorter gear ratios to compensate for the extra weight of the convertible. Software tweaks as well.
