    Went to visit my car at the restoration shop today. It was really nice to see some of the original green paint after some trim and interior panels were removed. Aside from getting the car back to its original color of verde pino metallizzato, I'm also having it re-badged as a Dino. With the front bumper off, I took a shot up from the ground to see the original horizontal cut-out for the Dino badge. In about three to four months the "red Ferrari" will be a fond memory, and I'll be absolutely loving my green Dino.

    I tried to buy a GT4 in that color one. Its a good color for the car.


    Where is it being worked on? I do not recognize the place.

    I still find it interesting 10388 and 10400 were so close in production, and both Verde Pino in color.

    Ah, three in a row, triplets! Now I'm picturing how the assembly line looked with 10384 in blue, 10386 in red, and 10388 in green — all in a line. A very colorful factory for sure. I'd love to see a picture of these cars on the day they were made.

    I owned 10356 back in the early 1980s. It was Argento over red leather. You can see how a previous owner installed the Cavallino badge incorrectly, positioned below the Dino instead of above. :(

    Today I approved the paint color sample! They still need to order the paint, but I was told it should head into the booth next week. Here's the paint sample next to a patch of the original green:

    That's really cool, and especially so since your original color splashes line up so nicely with the Scaglietti color sample book. Just curious, where did you find the reference book? Is there s Blu Chiaro color chip in there?

    The color swatch books are around, I found this one on eBay. People ask a lot of money for them, but this one was not in "perfect" condition, so I got it really cheap. Anyway, sadly there's no Blu Chiaro in this book. The only blues in this booklet are: Azzurro Dino, Bleu Montecarlo, Azzurro Metallizzato, Bleu Sera Metallizzato, and Bleu Dino Metallizzato.

    Yep, Chris works, I answer to that. ;) Keep your open though, there's sample booklets that will have the color you're looking for. The interesting thing is that I have a friend with an actual "Dino 308 GT4" color swatch booklet, and it actually does not have my color in it. I think that booklet probably has colors that were specific to the Dino 308 GT4, and the "Ferrari" booklet I have has colors that were shared with all models. Just a guess, but obviously, different years of swatch booklets will have different colors based on what was available.

    They just got the paint yesterday (Tuesday). I would think if the car doesn't go in the booth this week, then it should next week.
