So in most terms worse than the a L to R conversion back in the early '70's which didn't really change the integrity of the car, more of a progression to a new country.... .....much like Shagger.
And people make a big deal about exactly the same car being delivered to a different country. You've got to laugh.
FFS is there any limit to bald-faced dealer lies ? "Pebble Beach Invited" means invited to the Concours, not to a fuching auction. No converted car would ever be invited to any credible concours event anywhere.
Well in the list of more appropriate 'wrong doings' to cars, I see a L to R conversion ( and colourchange in my case) as being relatively minor to the integrity of a 'special' car compared to lopping off some number of square feet of sheet metal to make into something it never was intended to be ....lets not forget about the probable strenghthening of the body to make up for the loss of the roof rigidity either........but you'd know about that..
Lot of export Ace Bristols have been converted to RHD..Price is affected a little but not that much compared to a genuine RHD…
....and it's pretty much the same as E Types Gazz. In fact, and I'm shore I wrote this back when I purchased it,it was a massive case of export or die in the Pommy car industry after WW2 Youl find many, most, all manufacturers made their cars ambidextrous.
Same as all early minis…I’ve got a cooper project that was on the production line as RHD with RHD numbers but was ordered by as US private buyer in 64,so they threw the LHD stuff in at the last minute..Numbers still indicate built as RHD and Certificate says exported to the US as LHD…
It's the house on a busy road argument. When the market is running hot, buyers are happy to grab. When the market goes the other way, you'll take a bigger hit to unload it.
I find that hard to believe, surely worth 30% less than a true RHD car with a much smaller pool of buyers
Dunno, there have been fewer 2+2's on the market than FHC's for a long time. The 2 at dealers; O/T's is an auto and drives badly according to the bloke who pulled out of my sale. R/monds is a convert @$130k S!! so has the crappy large rear lights. The brown auto LHD @ $200....well enuff said Collectable Classics had one and sold at about $130k a couple of months ago. Qld club chairman has a crappy one @ about $150k and it's rubbish as my looker told me. The only other couple that were on were a similar colour to mine and spec but worn @ $168,not there now and finally a primrose S2 manual that was up @ $235!
