It is pretty much majority of posts here with same sentiments of modern ferraris and other cars that are too numb, overstyled and made for idiots who don't know how to properly drive.

I track my c6z06 once a month with all nannies off, manual, and 505hp/500 torque, 3200 lbs...that is about the MAX limit of hp on track with only driver and machine talking/dancing with each other.

He sold his company back in 2018. At that time the only thing he needed was a bigger car barn. Probably has built one at this point. Quite a character.

    Yep - that's why I have 3!

That's not right! (In fairness, I have a PDK 911 too but that's really my wife's/guest loaner car so it doesn't count. All my cars have a clutch pedal.

LaF and SF90 are cool to look at and technological marvels, but I have never daydreamed about owning one. To me the ultimate cars are 288 gto, f40, f50, cgt, f1.

Definitely forget twitter, but Ferrari, and bring on Gordon Murray and Pininfarina for a special project lightweight manual

I assumed it was a joke. Can't think of a more anti-analog car than those digital appliances they sell.

I don’t think it is anything related to musk being an ice enthusiast (although I think he has an f1). Just an example of a guy rich enough, and cavalier with his money, that he could take Ferrari private again to do whatever he wanted. Definitely not something buffet would do!

I second that. I have a 328 and you feel like your are part of the car when you drive it. I think it's one of the best.

Come on though, surely the 812 GTS passes the F-Chat thumbs-up consensus.

That is drop dead gorgeous. And what an engine. Buy one before petrol cars get outlawed.....

And what a colour, my god....

If u lined up all the v12s from the 80s till now and said I could pick one (other than my 575!) it would be between 512bb and TR. 812 is surely impressive, and I would love to take one for a spin, but I prefer to have a manual, simpler, classic beauty in my garage.

A lot of the new exotics (and corvette) all seem to follow the same formula, big, lots of angles, aggressive slats and vents, that they all seem to blend. To me mc20 and 296 look the best of the new crop as they are smoother, less aggressive.

    The key word is "Flow."

The design must flow, IMHO. The 812 looks nice, but doesn't flow. The eyes wander everywhere when looking at new cars with all the slats,.vents, empty slots

as mentioned before the amount of sheer power is crazy now and electronics are an absolute must, the pista without traction control on was described as a nightmare to drive by CH iirc

I think the 458 is about right imo but I also have owned and appreciated older ferraris

the GT4rs shows to some extent how much demand there is for a focused light weight reasonably priced manual sports car, it's impossible to get one and is selling for £100-200k over list

I remember riding a Hayabusa motorcycle when they first came out. It wasn't a lot of fun. You had to be squared up with a lot of runway in front of you. You would then "roll" on the throttle. Shear speed doesn't do it for me.

It’s all about the target consumer. A lot of people these days are caught up in the horsepower wars. It’s a big itch that people like to scratch.

But then Ferrari has to turn around and make that hp accessible to these consumers.

Same with the NA engines, which are now an option (upcharge, of course) in some models.

Naw, Ferrari should put a hard cap at say 800hp. Never go over that. Competition? What's that?
They should focus on going 'backward' not 'forward' - heck F1? Leave it to those other 'tech bros.'

    :)

Sometimes I wish more people would just stop sometimes and really think about what they're asking for.

And that’s what is so great about these debates!

Backwards, forwards are all subjective terms.

More bhp and tech means progress to some, but to others it means giving up some of the driving reward.

    All opinions are valid.

yes, i'd like more power, more electric power, less steering feel, less noise and much more traction control / driver aids :)

They actually DID scrap it for 3 years before wisely bringing it back.
