Tweet— Twitter API (@user) date Vettel more and more ridiculous. Breaking news ! He’s now a step ahead Lewis.
Ah what the heck? I don't know what's driving his newfound activism but he appears to be more genuine than Lewis. Certainly more down to earth.
I don’t believe he’s more sincere than Lewis for a single second. Like all lecturers do. This is what life has taught me.
Seb goes further than his "activism." He was recently on BBC TV questioning F1 in the global spectrum and what F1 contributes. Seb really is different from his RedBull days.
He is an intelligent smart man. He observes the given hypocrisy and is open about his internal personal conflicts with it. This is normal as a human being. He makes leaders uncomfortable and that is ok in this world. He understands the utility of F1 in life as sport and entertainment but is aware of larger impacts. His articulation is sound.
Here are excerpts from the BBC interview and articles. One thing at least I respect is it seems Seb is now leaning into 'full hippy' and not even trying anymore. That's good. Image Unavailable, Please Login Honesty is good.
I don't mind his activism (or Lewis) or whoever, it's just I would pay a driver to win (FIRST) - Social Justice or whatever tickles your tip (second) Seb knows he didn't have the chops, blames Ferrari for things like Germany, and now knows he stinks at his primary job, might as well focus on the secondary goals.
No, when he was with RedBull, he was "Schumacher-esque" on the track.....clashing with Webber and the "multi-21" episode. After being beat for 2 years at Ferrari by Leclerc, his ideology has shifted to the far left--->global issues.
Thanks so much for your response. I mean, what a person's politics is/was/will be - I don't care. I just care about the politics of the track. **** Is it just me, or something break in Vet during his tenure at Ferrari? No I'm not talking about his sudden realization geopolitics
Seb was a bit of a prick when he was at RBR, bit similar to Max in that he was the golden child and acted accordingly. Webber mentioned it during the Multi 21 debacle. His time away from Red Bull has made him far more livable, his time at Ferrari brought him down to planet earth. I don't mind current Seb at all, I think he'd be fun to have a drink with.
He sold his Ferrari's, he rides a bicycle to the track(he wants to leave less of a carbon footprint), he picks up trash,......I really don't know why he's in F1 because the whole F1 culture goes totally against his current beliefs.
He has a family now and knows the world is much larger than F1. He knows F1 is sport/entertainment- not curing cancer etc.
As a Vantage owner, I truly hope Aston Martin (AML) can right itself. From someone outside looking in, it appears to be a rudderless ship in need of some serious course correction before it hits the rocks. As Mercedes already owns a portion of AML, and will be automatically acquiring more next year per the preset agreement, I think the only hope for AML is being acquired by MB in its entirety. I truly love Aston Martin, but the current financial instability and questionable management decisions prompted me to pass on a 2020 DB11 and a DBX for my wife. If I am buying an expensive vehicle, I would like to know that the manufacturer will be around for a few years. Until AML can prove that it has turned the corner and is on firm ground, I will pass on any more purchases which is a shame. With that, I am jumping ship and am awaiting an allocation for the Roma. With regards to F1, I know less than anyone on FC. Last time I watched F1, Jackie Stewart was the host. That being said, Stroll absolutely has to go.
I like Vet and I do think he has good intentions but I wonder how much trash he picks up when there are no cameras?
He made it clear he loves F1. If you read what he said he sees both sides. He does not hide his F1 passion at all. This is not complex
