Disagree with the bold bit. Mercedes brought plenty of upgrades, wings, endplates, bargeboards, floor bits, suspension, and of course that engine. They claim they didn't do a single upgrade after silverstone but that wasn't true.

I've been at that Basilica 2x in the late 70's and early 80's.

I don't recall anything on the suspension or floor. Endplates are very minor. Main change was the front wing and the monster engine.

Essentially the same upgrades RBR kept doing (minus engine and suspension).

From I think Turkey onwards Mercedes had a change in their suspension (hydraulic at the time), where it would drop in a non linear way, but only on the straights. Paul di Resta here does accidentally call it a ''device''.

You expect the suspension to drop as downforce increases, that's entirely normal, but not in the way it happened on the Mercedes. It drops as if on demand.

But that was more a setup change than an actual upgrade. It's actually an old suspension trick.

I'm not so convinced but either way, it's a little irrelevant: Both teams had their large upgrades at some point and kept updating with minuscule updates here and there, as planned. Mercedes simply tried their silly mind games saying they won't upgrade whilst they actually brought the biggest update of them all, that rocket engine.

    Ridiculous.

Start focusing on the Ferrari's issues (tyre life and speed) instead of wondering what Red Bull has spend. Even if the (untrue) 75% came from Binotto's mouth, that's still below the threshold. If Nugnes 75% figure is correct I fully expect this report to write that both Mercedes and Aston Martin will be over 100% by this weekend as well, then. What a clown show.

But if Ferrari believes Red Bull will overspend, i think they must bring it up to the FIA....

It's like any other rule. If Ferrari is working within the cap (at a detriment to its development pace) and RB is not, then there needs to be a protest. No different than running an out of spec engine or aero advantage. Anyone know if/how the teams are audited?
