It was satisfying that whenever SKY talked about HAMs rise up through they prefaced it EVERY TIME with "He wanted to quit at the beginning but look at him now!!!"

Amazing race, just a shame the gravel was so easy to get out of! Real shame for LEC.

Besides, the truth is that Verstappen was actually way faster at the end - the only way for Perez to win would have been a team order to prevent Verstappen to challenge him. Perez could dream otherwise, but that would not have made sense at all.

I have to say you are absolutely right on this one.
Perez reacted as he didn’t even realized Verstappen was the only one to have enough skills to fight for a Championship.

Now he can hug his champion self and feel warm and fuzzy again. I think the teams pit calls did it all.

Just got back from a driving weekend in a 250 GTE. No radio so no news, no turbo so no turbo failure.
Very depressing result, but at least Charles had the speed.
Lots of analysis to do back in Maranello.
We just have to press on. I still maintain we have come a long way.

Champion's drive? He had plenty of room, but couldn't hold his line around the curve and ruins a tire. Quits on the radio. Finishes 5th. They have to massage his ego so hard just to keep him from parking the car and storming off it's getting embarrassing for all of us.

Thats clear now. Its not 1 or 2 races. Time wins, LH is still capable but Russell is younger and capable. This will be interesting as the season makes progress. Will LH decide to go out after this first real indication?

Overall was good race for a Spain GP. RedBull need to cure small tech issues. Ferrari should have won. Gutted for Charles.

Is Monaco RedBull now the favorite. We know in qualy soon lol :)

LH had a good recovery drive today
Perez must now see he is a "Butler" to Max.

I know it's a long season but henceforth I am keeping my expectations tempered down. You never know what will hit us when we have everything going great.

Sainz, I dunno what to say. He has the car to challenge still not able to deliver. I really hope Ferrari has designed two different cars for its drivers rather than going basic and expecting drivers to adapt.

    You are right
Maybe we just have to appreciate what has been done since three years by Binotto and the team.
But difficult to be patient when you are so close to grab the holy grail !

I dunno how many will agree, but maybe our engine issue could be a blessing in disguise, if we think along Merc, RB's way.
We should push for an update in the name of reliability and get some more power out of it. I know it will not be easy given the scrutineering and all, but heck, if MB and RB can do it through loopholes, why can't we.

Thanks for that. From the likes on what is happening on the race track, things seems to be slowly moving in the hands of RB, Max. Max drove a good race despite DRS issue. Sure, he got some help with team orders, but today's race was damage limitation, which I hate.

This is what I cannot understand about some tifosi; they are too eager "to count their chicken before they hatch", and end up disappointed.

I'll put it in French for you: "vendre la peau de l'ours avant de l'avoir tué".

This championship is 23 races, and you know what can happen at the last minute (Abu Dhabi 2021!), so there is no point getting all excited about a couple of good results early on.

You have to keep your enthusiasm in check ...

Yeah, keeps getting outshone by Russell.

I didn’t post about the message—I don’t even see it—just the pic of the car hugging the ground was impressive.

Were we using PU2 this race or another unit. From what I read in earlier posts, Charles will be using another unit so an expected grid penalty.

was he not the fastest today? Unlucky to get a puncture, he was the only front runner who started on the mediums too.

    Toto claims so.
