GTO made the crownwheel and pinion for my Daytona, they're a great outfit.
The diff (!) erence from the standard car to this thing is chalk and cheese, you can't just write it off the way you are. It's not a 365 end of arguement.
I'm not writing it off. Once you clarified out want just a 400 diff, but a 400 auto diff, I realised it was a big difference. Nevertheless, you've proven you can live with it if no further options come up. Sig www.pless.com.au/mechanics.htm
.. That was clarified at the outset Peter you just decided to make a mountain out of a molehill,or you somehow missed it though I can't see how that could happen as folk on here who aren't as Ferrari savvy as you 'got it' immediately..
I missed it. I thought it was a 400 diff, missed the bit about auto. Nevertheless, you've proven it's manageable. (At a pinch)
Isn't it? Ok. What sort of moron would do a standing start race with a Ferrari of that age? Sig www.pless.com.au/mechanics.htm
Well it drives but not like the red one. It's not hurting the car....just needs the original gearbox recon and refit,a new clutch cable coz it's shot, another LH window motor and the original diff ratio put in...5 minutes and she's good to go....
Please try to keep up! The original gearbox and diff are now at Marc's. The original gearbox is an unknown quantity as it was swapped out for the existing same type of box at least 14 years ago. Marc will recon that one and fit(matching numbers etc),the existing box will be recond and put up for sale as about the only 'sweet' thing of the whole debacle. We will then decide what to do with the original diff when! the dealer comes good! with the correct C/W and pinion.
Why would CTS take on any responsibility? I don't get what claim you'd have against them. I think if you pushed it with a claim (legally), you'd lose.
I've seen your explanations. I think you're wrong, but for your sake, I hope I'm wrong. Sig www.pless.com.au/mechanics.htm
I’d certainly be pissed off and feel misled. And try to get recourse in any way I could. And I’d wonder why I did it in the first place.
