    Hi Friends,

First time long time. I am looking to make the jump into the pool and purchase my first Ferrari. Lots of great information and learnings found here, so I wanted to start by kicking off thread to the peanut gallery :)

    My budget is ~100k.
Looking for more of a GT.
It will be a driver - maybe even trips from TX to CA or FL.
I understand I will be looking at an older car <10 years.

Assuming I am trying for the nicest example in that budget (and before the jokes that I should just get a Bentley Continental GT (which I considered)). Here are the models I have on the list. Anything else I should add? Anything to stay away from?

All seemed to have recently (in the past 12 months) a major service. Or the price is reflected of not having that.

    2005 612 F1 - 30k Miles $110k

    2005 612 - 25k Miles $99k

    2001 456 GTA -25k Miles $55k

FF (the dream...but not in budget) - 11k Miles $160k

Thanks in advance for your thoughts and feedback :)

Wait another 9 months to a year, the greed will subside and the sellers will have no choice but to price the cars for what they are worth . My Real Estate agents are already having their deals bounce out of escrow , due to higher rates as well as buyers changing their minds about the home purchases. It wont be long before the the car market corrects itself from the insanity of the past three or so years. Oh and by the way, the FF is an abomination , the other machines you posted are really nice Ferraris. If you want to buy a station wagon, you dont have to spend Ferrari money to get one, or an SUV with 4 wheel drive for that matter. You might want to consider a 550 / 575 / 599 , once the market corrects, they can certainly be had for less than what they are going for now, and that includes manual gearbox examples as well .

    Thank you ,

I would definitely go with one of the V12's instead of the California, especially if you plan on keeping it long term.

A 456 for $55k, haven't seen one in that range for quite a while.

And I'd add, if your budget is $100k all in, I'd go for one of the cheaper cars like the 456 and bank the rest for maintenance and upgrades. :)

You could wait as you are probably looking at the top of the market. However, if you can't wait ........

As an owner of both a 2008 612 and 2015 FF, you can't go wrong with either car. From MA I've driven the 612 to FL and Quebec and Ontario several times each, and to AZ once and CO once. The car has been flawless. The FF is primarily for cold weather so I've only taken trips to upstate NY and to Quebec in winter, again flawless performance.

If your budget is around $100K, don't try to stretch for the FF, you need to leave room for maintenance.

I am also a fan of the front mounted V12s, I love the 550 / 575 / 599, and could see myself in one someday. I love the F12 and the 812 , with that being said, they will most likely be out of my reach . That 812 is something else I'll tell you ! . Keep us posted on the cars you go and check out !! Where there is a will there is a way !!

    Thank you,

While I am a huge fan of the mid-engine V-12, I like certain iterations of the front end 12 also.

A question for the OP, is the only reason you are targeting the 4 seat cars budgetary? It isn’t mentioned that the OP has kids. I personally wouldn’t buy a 4 seat Ferrari unless there are kids involved, the California being an exception if there is only one child. There are several companies that make 4 seat GT cars that have a better value ratio so your limited budget can go farther.

No human kids involved, just two 7 pound chihuahuas:) I like the GT cars as they seem to have more interior room for longer road trips. I also have never owned a Ferrari and thought this range of cars would be a good entry and tick my roadtrip box. I lean towards GT cars in general.
