There was a SPECIAL version made that I saw at FMS some time ago Gaz that was something only you and Greg could afford ..... I was looking at banks that had lax security do to a job with your Lebbo mates, probably could afford it then
Something for Gazz? Ms Herbert must have been a stunner: https://www.pickles.com.au/cars/item/-/details/3x-Various-Posters/1090062668 ......and something for Pat's Elan? ....this'll make her bella: https://www.pickles.com.au/cars/item/-/details/Ford-BDG-2-0-Litre-Twin-Cam-Long-Motor/1090062663
That's the less desirable cast iron block, 275hp from the factory (depending on carbs / injection). The fact that its brand new is a novelty however. Here's a fresh rebuild, complete with injection for US$10K. https://racingcarnetwork.com/race-car/cosworth-bdg-2-0l-engine-2/
Here is Vanessa's (Michelle's mate!) take on telling the world what her unpainted in bare metal, automatic imported Aston is worth...and yes its been on before https://www.carsales.com.au/cars/details/1971-aston-martin-dbs-v8-auto/SSE-AD-12565137/?Cr=2
How the hell did you find that? I look every few months. The one at Pickles did look like an iron block, and it didn't have the LHS oil feed - weird.
FFS you could buy this Vantage and put the roof back on and still have change : https://brooklandscc.com/car/aston-martin-dbs-vantage/ Or just get this instead: https://www.carsales.com.au/cars/details/1972-aston-martin-vantage-vantage-mk-ii-manual/OAG-AD-19418242/?Cr=3
Whenever I look at DBS Astons, I always LOL at the Hillman tail lights. Working out where the lenses come from is great fun with Pommy kit cars.
It’s described as a handful, I’ll bet it is [emoji849] https://www.carsales.com.au/cars/details/1960-jwf-milano-sport-manual/SSE-AD-12831305
It's been on the market for a while. It failed to sell at auction last year along with LHD 308 and E Type.
So now the Aston is a kitcar? Fair dinkum you really underwhelm me sometimes Ian with your prognoses of cars that don't,apparently, appeal to you. FFS Ferrari use Fiat and some other proprietary parts so are they on your radar next?
Mind you, you could do the same thing with Fiat parts on the older Ferrari (308: red light on the inside if the door; front side indicator buttons, fuel filler cap, oil filler cap)
Fair dinkum you're really sensitive! I didn't say the Aston was a kit car (they make their own engines, which is the key factor IMO) rather that it amuses me working out where parts come from. And yes the Italians do it too. Having said all that, given the price and bespoke image of Aston, they could have gone to the trouble of having their own lenses.
James Bond should have stuck to driving a Sunbeam Alpine , far quicker on those tricky Scottish mountain roads than a DB4..
