    Common and confusing problem. I am looking for a place to rebuild an HVAC ECU. Anyone with experience with this problem has a recommendation?

    I’m also curious here- I thot it was 6 amplifiers and a simple surface soldering job not a $900 one. Anyone else have recs?

    Correct, I bought the 6 surface mount chips and had them installed with IMMOFIX for a relative bargain.

    Nice just a chip replacement? I never opened one up as I have no AC in my cars LOL
    I do have all the equipment for that. You know what the chip number is?

    Worst part of the job is getting the resin potting material off. I was successful getting mine back together though

    Yeah thats where I have zero patience. Love to dig them off the board with my hot air station and special chip attachments. BUTT BUTT I need those magnifying glasses :) Putting them back on is still fun. Im working on these issues in therapy LOL

    If you want to try this one on your own uou will need a surface mount soldering station some soldering paste and some braid. I recommend a practice board and practice chip kit that is cheap on Amazon. With patience and practice it's not too bad. Make sure you are confident with removal clean up and resolder before going at the real thing. Be careful not to damage the board traces. I think i ised a combination of heat and rubbing alcohol on the potting material.

    And unfortunately i need magnifiers too.
