The rest of the mental midget squad here are obviously too weak and afraid to even attempt any form of counter argument or answer one single question when directly asked. Weak sauce in their brain buckets. Nope, no complex issues at hand, just a continuing playing internal mono dimensional monologue, “guns bad, ban guns, and problems go away.” That seems to be about as complex a thought process as they can muster.
To those children I say continue your irrelevant ranting, patting each other on the shoulder, “we showed ‘im mate, good on ya!”

 

Well Einstein, your method doesn’t actually tag someone, so they get no alert that they are mentioned in a post.
I don’t care whether you own a Ferrari or a dozen, that should have been clear from my comment. The point was if you have any measure of success in life you should be able to argue the logic of a point and not resort to base emotions.

Fchat is international, and members can post in any section of Fchat. If you're going to discuss stuff that happens in another part of the world, it's highly likely some of their locals will want to contribute their opinion to that discussion. Wether you agree with it or not.

Btw...I think you missed the irony of the “Quigley” name, I was being ironical....Quigley was an American from the American West brought to Oz ostensibly to shoot Aborigines.

You are fine to characterize me as a “cretin,” but at least have the intellectual honesty to appreciate that it is I who is pointing out that our problems in the US are far far more complicated than you are characterizing. Indeed, the call for limiting legal access to guns as a “solution” shows that the person arguing that angle is exceedingly simplistic in his/her analysis.

No doubt. But the operative terms in your post are “civilized society.” I suspect if you had easy access to guns your society would still not have the problems we experience here, it’s not the gun as the limiting factor but rather the society. Now, the US has a great many places of very high society and wealth, and that isn’t where the majority of gun crimes are committed, they are in the very uncivilized areas (almost by definition). The US has gobs and gobs of gun laws currently, the thing is the criminals and whackos who rise out of uncivilized areas don’t care about those laws. The US could theoretically pass extremely draconian gun laws, essentially forbidding them, and we’d still have the same problem—except maybe for the gun suicides.

As I mentioned quite a few posts back if we removed suicide by gun, strictly cleaned up the few percent of counties accounting for the majority of gun violence, raided gangs daily, and could get drugs under control there would be almost no gun violence in the US. Parenthetically, the majority if not the entirety of all those extremely violent counties have been controlled by Democrats for many many years. Do you wonder why schools so often seem to be the target? Easy prey perhaps?

Even if we did all that above there would still be the potential for the lone wolf whacko to perpetrate terror. That will never ever go away.
