Thinking of buying a 2014 California for my wife as a DD.

Any known issues I should know about?

I feel most modern Ferrari's should be fairly reliable? How is the top mechanism on these cars?

    Thanks

Bullet proof for us. Drove our 13 for a few years and about 20k miles without issue.

A bunch of first gen Cali's had roof issues. Engine mounts is a weak spot. They also have a tendency to get carbon buildup in the intake runners and on the valves.

That said, they are generally as reliable as other daily driven cars. As with other cars, they don't like to sit.

Get a warranty and enjoy driving.

Our Cali is about 35 K miles, 6+ years and has been reliable, reasonably worry free, especially by Ferrari standards. It's not a DD - since I work from home and wife has a 1.5 mile commute - but we use it about 2 / 3 times per week. Being a worry wart, I would look into something like Ferrari Roadside Assistance, Triple A Premium membership, etc. in case of a flat tire, dead battery, etc.

Awesome, thanks for the response. I had a 2011 458 that I drove 20k miles in a year with no issues. Most of my modern Ferrari's have been great so hoping the California will be the same!

The early Calis seem to behave better if they don't sit. I would still keep it on a tender when sitting at home and if the battery is more than 3 years old, replace it. Enjoy...T
