Does anyone have tickets for sell to Sundays race? Also has any ever bought tickets from a 3rd party or the day of the race outside the circuit? Sent from my SM-G996U using Tapatalk
Okay thanks was it hassle free, show up with credit card pay and you're in? Everything I'm seeing online is sold out, except for scamming websites. Sent from my SM-G996U using Tapatalk
I always buy mine well in advance from the ACM, but you can readily buy tix on-site from various vendors. A knowledge of the track layout certainly helps you select the best deal for you.
Okay thanks Ira. That's good to hear. I read that grandstand K and L I believe are best viewing locations. Sent from my SM-G996U using Tapatalk
Ira or anyone, do you have an idea of the cost the vendors charge. I'm sure there's a premium, just want to have an idea of cost per ticket. Sent from my SM-G996U using Tapatalk
when i was there, street vendor shop prices were the same as the “special” pricing i got here in cali from a club member
Sorry for the delayed reply, but I've been away- just got back from Monaco last night, and was 99% off-line while away. I've never actually bought tix on the secondary market (I always buy from the ACM), but noticed significantly fewer sellers on the streets this year- usually they are various options available along rue Grimaldi and elsewhere. If anyone needs advice in the future let me know- after 30 visits to this race I know the turf pretty well. Frankly, tix are easy- it's a hotel room in town (or within walking distance of the Principality) that is the tough part.
Early on I stayed at the Hotel Alexandra in Monte Carlo for years, but when it closed years ago (building was sold for redevelopment that never happened, and is now occupied by a private bank) I was forced to look elsewhere. I now stay at the Hotel de France in the Condamine neighborhood (near the harbor), and while it's hardly Monaco's poshest hotel, it's charming and nicely kept up- lots of bars/restaurants within a couple of blocks, and besides, I can walk to my seats in the K grandstands just opposite the yachts in about 5 minutes! I literally have the same room every year, and when I leave we verbally confirm that I'll be back the following year, and we firm up the details maybe 6 months out.
Thanks for everyone's help. I did eventually get tickets from BAM Motorsports out of UK for Saturday. I wasn't able to find anything in Monaco, but did in Cannes, which was only an hour train ride. My girlfriend wanted access to the beach so this was perfect. Only drawback was not making it back to Monaco to have dinner at America Bar. So, I would definitely like to grab a room in Monaco next year and walk to the track like Ira and make the dining experience in Monaco more feasible. Please share detail on the location and contact info so I can also make arrangements now.
This website lists every hotel I can think of in MC: Hotels (visitmonaco.com). I've stayed in a few of them over the years, but price varies a lot and is not necessarily related to proximity to the track. In addition, some that are very close to the track (like the Miramar) are fully booked by tour groups or F1 teams, so you should start early if you want to stay in town. The teams take up so many rooms that most are booked year-to-year. All hotels have minimum stays during race week, usually 3-5 nights, and the prices can be multiples of their regular May rates. Having said that, consider staying in a nearby French town like Beausoleil or Cap d'Ail, which are within a few minutes of MC on foot. Prices there are also heavily marked up for the week of the GP, but not everyone knows about them, so maybe your chances are better. Beausoleil is just a few blocks north of Casino Square, and Cap d'Ail is adjacent to MC's Fontvielle neighborhood, which is an easy walk to the harbor. Hope this helps. As I said, start early if you want to stay in/near town.
For an awesome Monaco experience get tickets to the Rascasse restaurant We go on Thursday which is now Friday and the sit on the rock Saturday and Sunday
Ed- San Remo is a nice town, but at maybe 1.25 hours away by train (on a normal day) I question how easy it'd be to get back and forth on race day. I know that the trains to/from Nice (which is in the opposite direction) are pretty packed. A free place to stay is pretty appealing though . . . Ira
