Last summer, I did a ~5,000 mile loop of the eastern half of the US in my 991.2 S Cab starting out in NJ. It was a blast. I wanted to do it again this year but in my Cali T.

Here's what I did last year in the 911.

Here's a rough outline of what I'm thinking for this year (not counting day trips, etc) very flexible once I'm out west.

I'm expecting to put 10-12k miles on the Cali T as part of this trip, at a minimum. Oil change and tire/brake check aside -- is there anything I should be thinking about in terms of driving a Ferrari across the country?

What day-trips / locations / stops / hotels / stays would you recommend?

    Thanks!

On the return leg, I'd head Sotheast from Santa Fe and stop in TX, LA, MS, AL, TN, KY, and WV. I would greatly prefer that route over covering the same ground twice. Also, lots of things to see and do in all of those Southern States.

    Agreed 100%!

I'll probably take a slightly different route back than the loop I did last year.

Any spots along the way you'd recommend?

You must see the Grand Canyon, it’s breathtaking.

In Salt Lake City you can drive 1.5 hours and get to the Bonneville salt flats and drive it to the top speed

Agree with what others have said, the same ride out/back isn’t ideal. That said, here are a few recommendations of cities/places to see that I love which you could use to change things up…

    - Tallgrass Prairie in NE OK; you might limit this to just Pawhuska, OK as the actual Tallgrass is gravel roads…absolutely gorgeous and stunning, but gravel nonetheless.

    - SE Oklahoma to central western Arkansas; there is a stretch of road from Talihina, OK to Mena, AR that is truly breathtaking. As someone who has driving many great driving roads, this route is in my top 3 in the nation.

    - Bourbon Trail; if your interested in that type of thing you’d be doing yourself an true injustice by not hitting a few of the distilleries in Kentucky.

If you want more suggestions I’m happy to provide them, I’ve been a Midwest and SEUS resident and “great road” purveyor for almost the last 40 years, we’re currently relocating to SW Utah - St. George, Utah from Ocean Springs, MS. Hit me up and I’ll help you out however I can! Best - James

Is the road from Talihina, OK to Mena, AR Route 8 / 63?

I'll definitely make sure to check these out! Thanks for the detailed recommendations!
