Hi, my car was working all fine, the ac was working fine too, however suddenly after I did a brake pad change and a bleed, the ac was causing a problem, when it was on(cold air) there is no sound, but when I turn it off(no cold air) there is a strong belt noise with some bearing noise, and I kept the ac on to avoid the sound, after like 20km the ac(cold air) was gone.

    Anyone know what’s happening

    Thanks in advance

It sounds like the compressor or the clutch has seized.

Sergio Tavares and Qavion like this.

I did a little research and some say that it is the ac compressor bearing, but my ac is not functioning anymore, by clutch do you mean the bearing?

The compressor has bearings it run in, attached to the front of the compressor is an electro magnetic clutch- this clutch is driven by the aux belt all the time. When you switch on the AC this clutch is energized and this engages the compressor to produce cool air.
When you switch the AC on you say you are getting noise and smell- this is the Aux belt slipping on the clutch as it looks as if the AC compressor is tight or seized.
First thing you do is get the car on a ramp and take the aux belt off and look at the AC compressor and clutch to find the problem.
Next, the Aux belt needs to be changed as it will have been damaged by the AC problem- this belt drives everything and it will fail soon.

I mean when I turn off the ac the noise comes, it’s bearing noise and belt noise
Turn on was fine, but then the ac don’t produce any cold air now

Mike has given good advice above. Start with that, and take the opportunity to check the rest of the ancillaries, to ensure that all pulleys turn freely and smoothly.

Assuming same as 430, it is an electro magnetic clutch. What can you see with belt removed
