It's a last minute trip. I won an auction to be an invited guest of Mercedes in the paddock this morning so now I'm heading to Silverstone at the end of the month. I have ne=ver been to but it is a track that is on my list of races I want to go to.

    Has anyone ever been?

Traffic is notoriously awful, especially on Sunday. If you can, I'd get a helicopter transfer.

I have been to Silverstone. It is fantastic. It is definitely a haul from London especially with traffic. Fortunately, we had a driver and driver passes to drop us off at the paddock. We waited to leave an hour+ after the race. Traffic wasn't horrible, but wasn't great either.

Helicopter is a solid choice if available.

    Enjoy!!

I've been to Silverstone, great fun and the F1 club area is superb. Go early and you won't wait that long, there are lots of vendors and things to see and do. Pimm's Cups are being served starting at dawn.

I've been several times, and most recently back in 2018.... for the LMS race. For F-1 Helicopter is the way to go, I think you can get a shuttle from outside Oxford or if you want from London City apt. Or Biggen hill. if you do Biggen, they usually have a great welcome breakfast set up, as they start Ferrying people in and out.

If you go by car - Ugg, its better today with the main road right to the motorway but its still painfully slow. I would think there is an easy transfer from the Heliport to Paddock club. if you reach out to the Paddock club they can set you up for heli or tell you where to go.

You could give this company a try for more info..

They also offer a fixed wing service into a small strip near the circuit then 4x4 transfer across fields straight to the paddock which might be even better and more cost effective.

Driving is doable leaving very early ..aim to arrive there by 5-6 AMo_O

Been going there for decades as spectator/competitor. have a great trip!

Traffic is a nightmare although it's better nowadays than it used to be.

Copse is a great place to watch and get a sense of just how awesome an F1 car is.

It's a shame it's not possible to get closer to Maggots/beckets, or that the viewing platform is a bit more elevated then it is. The speed through copse and M/B is insane. With these cars with even higher downforce than when I was there last (2007) must be even more incredible.

Have done it. I agree with all the comments here that traffic is a nightmare.

It's insanely expensive but do the helicopter thing. It's very organized: You go by train to a train station from where the helo takes off.

It sounds like I definitely have to look into a helo ride. I didn't even consider that as an option. Been to F1 in Mexico City, Budapest and this year in Miami so far. Traffic in Mexico City was pretty awful but that's expected in a city with 20 million people. Miami was surprisingly easy to get there, to park right by the entrance and to get to our seats. Budapest was a pretty impressive display of how the cops keep traffic moving there for F1 so that was easy too.

We are in the paddock on Friday so someone else will be taking us into the track but on Saturday and Sunday I am on my own. Honestly I am really going for the practice day since that is the day that I have team access to the paddock, I may watch quali on Saturday and just go back for the race on Sunday. I am staying in London.

Friday and saturday you should be ok for traffic. Sunday will just be awful. I'd drive in Friday/Sat and try and get a helo sunday.

Sincee you're on your own, with a bit of luck perhaps you can share a ride with someone else going by helo and pay half fare.

Perhaps try pistonheads see if anyone is flying in sunday or wants to fly in.
