    I'm trying for the 3rd time to take a fellow FCA member for a flight from Lilydale to Tooradin for lunch.

    3rd time! What happened to the perfect Melbourne weather we're used to?

    Anyway, hopefully this coming week.

    The restaurant at the airport is meant to be excellent.

    I haven't done that scenic VFR route, but I imagine it'd be excellent.

    I get a glimpse of Ayers Rock and The Olgas occasionally when flying in the far north of SA.
    Seeing them sticking up on the horizon amongst the otherwise flat terrain makes the hairs on the back of your neck stand up.
    There's definitely something awe inspiring and almost spiritual about the place.

    I know what you mean re Uluru.

    We were in Uluru 7 weeks ago.

    Never been there before.

    It was amazing and yes, quite spiritual.

    I think it'd be spectacular at any time, but dawn or dusk would mean the colours would be even more intense.
    Pity you weren't there a few days ago - the waterfalls coming down the rock after heavy rain would be something to see.

    It’s a fairly lengthy flight from Alice in a lighty, so you’d want to overnight I would have thought.
    Then you can do the scenic more than once and at different times.
