Yep. He is in the fastest car. Just unreliable. Why go to Mercedes? 3rd best team, occupied, and 40 seconds down the road. Red Bull is occupied and has Max in the other seat then anyways. Everyone else? Not going to cut it. He's already in the best team, patience is all he can do.

So, after the Barca failure Ferrari said the turbo and MGU-K were damaged and that an investigation cleared these for design faults or fatigue issue.

This looked to be the same today as I think the ICE was still powering the car. I know they’re working new hybrid components for homologation later in the year but what are they doing now about this problem? If it’s the turbo (turbine or compressor), these are supplier parts (Garrett)—how fast can they fix that?

The F1-75 is like Wiliams FW24. Great for poles and the odd win.

I’d rather have us suck so badly there is more impetus to clean house and not unrealistically have expectations so high as to have us tifosi think we have a chance at a championship

This is worse in my humble opinion and quite unacceptable

Enzo is rolling over in his grave!

For the moment, Bino's endless "we will analyze" is still a better bet.

I really think they rushed the update. Binotto projected a calm head with his no need for updates talk but then rushed the engine upgrade. Bit them twice now, and it very clearly is a recent upgrade issue as ALL Ferrari cars suddenly have these issues, coming from an upgraded component. So stupid. Behind the scenes it seems to fall apart rapidly.

Ferrari have now dug themselves in a DEEP hole. 34 points behind Max now. Fastest car on saturday (no points for that), but red bull matches Ferrari on sunday. Sainz doesn't like the car at all so can't steal points of Red Bull. So Ferrari needs to find a LOT of speed AND reliability, so that Sainz can interfere as well, whereas it's all going remarkably well for Red Bull...with Ferrari's latest issues Red Bull can now actually turn down the spending. Max can finish P2 for the next 5 races and Leclerc needs to win all of them, only for then to be 1 point between them! And they still have that Silverstone upgrade coming.

After Silverstone Red Bull can likely focus on 2023.

If you remember, Mercedes wasn't winning when Hamilton moved there.
Ferrari wasn't winning when Lauda went to Maranello.
F1 is constantly changing, and you have to look ahead to find the best opportunity for your career.
We don't know the impact new constructors may have yet (Porsche, Audi?). There will be retirements soon.
Staying too long at Ferrari when they don't perform broke the careers of Amon, Ickx, Alesi, and it didn't serve neither Alonso nor Vettel.
It would be a pity to see Leclerc becoming a wasted talent.

F1 has become so so boring.
I used to watch religiously……now it’s a cruise fest, all in single file.

So, the strategy isn' too great, now the reliability is in question, but they keep believing in miracles.

Mercedes had a huge hiring of people prior to Lewis joining, preparing for the hybrid cars. Everything pointed to it being THE team to be at. Combine that with Mclaren then not being the factory team any more, the writing was on the wall if you wanted to stick with at least a Mercedes engiine.

Mercedes has lost a lot of people recently, but not to factory teams. Aston isn't going to be the answer, is it. Nor is Renault with their endless failures. The landscape right now is to be either in Ferrari or Red Bull, then Mercedes, Mclaren.

He's already in the top team.

When I am taliking about opportunities for Leclerc, it's for the future.
The landscape may change with the arrival of new players: F1 isn't static.
Remember Mercedes and Red Bull were non existent before 2010! Yet they grabbed all the championships since !!!
If Porsche and Audi come in, it's not to be just participant.
There are even whispers of Honda coming back as a factory team in 2016.

I know active suspension on the car is not allowed, how about active suspension on just the drivers seat

Maybe they can get the dudes at "Bitchin' Rides" to "bag and slam" the car. Well, I guess it's already slammed . . .

Ambitious people climb the corporate ladder by always looking for new opportunities, networking, making contacts, gathering information, and making bold decisions. That's how they reach high positions and obtain power.

Nothing stops a driver (and his manager) from doing the same in search of the team offering the best chance of success.
Being in awe with your employer and getting bogged down in long terms contracts isn't the best way to realise your potential.

It’s RB vs Ferrari. Leclerc had nowhere to go that will give him a better shot at a title. MB has Russell and RB has Verstappen. He’s a Ferrari driver for better and for worse.
