Yes, there are plenty of rumours going around, but none that fill me with optimism.

They may delay the deadline for small manufacurers (some having to cut down production to qualify, BTW), but the sign is on the wall.

Consumers have no choice here: the EU commission decides, and the Euro parliament is full of ecolos.

Only good thing so far, they are leaving motorcycles alone, so I may have to contemplate buying one again.

I predict a rush on second-hand cars in the next 10 years!

The thing is William, why can't governments give the consumer a choice without penalizing that choice.

Because if they did that consumers would almost universally make the "wrong" choice.

Was it really necessary to bring up Ham's lifelong paymaster heritage with Nazi Germany ?

I can't answer that. Here in Europe, the nuts have taken over the asylum.

Ecologist lobbies are in control of several governments, and they don't care about consumers choice, economic interest or keeping jobs.

All they want is to reduce CO2 and that's their credo. You oppose them at your peril !

You make that reference, I didn't.

I am only interested in sport and technical efficiency.

So all drivers are the same in terms of how they treat/mistreat equipment? Gimme a break. History is LOADED with drivers who were famously kind to equipment and history is also LOADED with drivers who were NOTORIOUSLY hard on equipment. Maybe Lewis falls in the "kind" category?

What you call "jealousy" has to do more with credibility.

Lewis was credible from 2014 thru 2020 because of a number of issues.

Where's Lewis, and Mercedes, for 2022. Look at Lewis's team-mate and make the comparison.

We know he is worn out and Mercedes has build a bad car this year.

From the supposed GOAT, who was just fine a few months ago, he is again being beaten by a teammate.

He didn't take a few years out, nothing.

I never heard him pretending such thing.

It's mostly his detractors who do.

No one is coming out saying he's the GOAT.

It's his fans that call him that constantly. Others offer an argument and are called haters.

I will stick with what I wrote in post #137.
Interesting that a 7 time WDC has his "credibility" questioned on an internet forum
    Again, see my post #137

Mercedes didn't build a dominant car nor is it a bad car according to Russell. Currently the W13 is the 3rd best car in the field.

Either Lewis isn't technically inclined with his car or Lewis hasn't adapted well.with the new regulations.

So do you think Lewis is credible right now given his titles, accolades and stats when his team-mate is literally wiping the floor against him?? Yes or no??

    I'm confused:
First you say "No one is coming out saying he's the GOAT
Then you say "It's his fans that call him that constantly."

So which is it? Either it's "no one is coming out saying he's the GOAT" or "It's his fans..."
    Can't be both.

PS. It's not an "argument" (which requires facts). It's an OPINION. YOUR opinion is very important...TO YOU. Others' opinions are important... to THEM. Fact is that he's a 7 time WDC and has won more F1 races than anyone. Those are facts which are indisputable. Shoulda/Woulda/Coulda doesn't enter into it.

Yes, he is MORE credible, because of his career record, than literally anything said here.
Like it or not, his career says his place in history is secure. You seem to be concerned about "legacy", which is a sports commentator's rap when they run out of things to say. Michael Jordan's time with the Washington Bullets doesn't seem to have impacted his "legacy"

Stats are a large part of the game but not everything. Fact of the matter is that Lewis spend much longer in cars that were faster to their immediate rivals compared to say, Michael. So that elevates his stats somewhat.

No one is saying Lewis is a bad driver. But it's quite funny, the moment someone disagrees with Lewis being the GOAT, we're called haters, detractors, jealous and so on. Even some that are his fans have been called haters purely because they said he wasn't the goat.
