I believe @Bas is quoting Toto....which as you say, and I agree with, is ridiculous.

Overall, the RB and the MB were pretty close, but that MB was much faster during the last few races out of nowhere, without a doubt.

Plenty of examples in F1, of a driver pushing a car beyond its limits (several examples posted in this thread) ... including, most recently, Verstappen in 2021 (even Toto Wolff agrees).

The same can't be said for Hamilton, certainly not this year ... as evidenced by his consistent finish 2 places behind his teammate :(

And yet the Hamilton fanboys refuse to recognize it

Agreed. Mercedes "spicey" engine which had limited use with regards to how many GP's they can run it due to the stress on the PU.

I think RedBull and Ferrari(if they get their act together) should have something similar to use at the last 3 races....just in case....as Toto said during the BrazilianGP 2021---> ["censored by FOM] them all!!"

Yes, agreed. They just get in their own way so much. Triggering…literally turned the race off and this is the first day I’ve felt like addressing it. Multiple unforced errors is infuriating!

at 43 I'm surprised he could still get in and out of a car, let alone stick a non-dominant car into P1 at Monaco

Because what advantage does Toto gain by saying the rival team beat his star driver, using a slower car...?

Slightly inferior first part of championship.
0,5 seconds/lap the last eight races.
A significative gap for the whole championship I would say.

That's the total for the whole team, and it doesn' take count of DNFs, incidents, etc ...

The 2021 Red Bull wasn't inferior to the Mercedes.

How do you explain all the duels during the season?

    Wow!

You've admitted that Ham struggles to perform in anything less than his former magic carpet Mercedes.

Having the 3rd fastest car is having "a dog"
    :D

Stick Ham in the Haas !

Max was making the difference when the RB was slower than Merc. We've seen it many times before, some don't like his aggressive style but his talent in extracting the maximum from a car is evident.
According to Ross Brawn at least.

Verstappen really started winning regularly when the Red Bull was finally better than the Mercedes.

Before 2021, he obtained only sporadic wins.
