Had the Opportunity to get this, But decided against as it’s the same book as the standard edition, with just a few autographs and different cover ‍♂️

In France there are already some proposals for the book at €190 or the book+kit at €550 (which puts the book at €151 since the MSRP of the kit is €399 here).
Given the number of pending offers on ebay my guess is that the price will drop even faster than the stock market...

While we struggle with inflation in many countries at the moment, we will see a sharp deflation in regard to the Ferrari SP3 Lego book. Everyone expects the price to fall, because there are more sellers than buyers at current prices, so no-one will pay today's prices any more. That will lead sellers to lower their prices step by step and enter the race for best price to get their copies sold. Real-economy expericence shows that thus the price could even fall below the 79 euros originally asked, because there is a buyers strike.

A crucial factor in that is that the book obviously was bought by many traders who don't hold the slightest interest in the topic, so they are destined to sell the book at any price in the end. And towards the 79 euro limit, the race to sell will increase.

As Doug Nye says many F books are a waste of trees, this one definitely in my humble opinion.

It’s a shame they made as many copies as they did.

I can’t help but draw a certain analogous relationship between this book and the Modulo NFT. I think they both tend to trivialize their respective subjects. I suppose some could make the case for them being tributes to their subjects, but I can’t.

Someone said 'there is no such thing as bad publicity, as long as they spell your name right'.
Ferrari got a large amount of free publicity by there tie in for the toy. The book is more of the same with the public that is interested paying to read 'Ferrari speak' regarding the SP3 in it's various forms.

A great new book about that other racing team. Coverage of every Porsche ever to start at Le Mans, with lots of great photos and results table for each race.

I wish Motorbooks would do Ferrari at Le Mans as a sequel, to the same format. Who would be the ideal author, Keith Bluemel, perhaps?

Both of those volumes were published in the mid-80s, so are almost 40 years out of date.

The Ferrari book would have no reference to the F40, 333 SP or the pack of GTs that have been so successful in this century.

Glen's Le Mans book is an update of his work for Haynes that hit the shops in 2011. It is written to his usual high standard, perhaps he should write the Ferrari at Le Mans as he has written about Ferraris in the past...also Keith is busy with an F40 book for Porter Press.

Yes, but we need to keep our eyes on the loyal opposition! Ignore their accomplishments and you're in trouble.

I also figure that promoting this book here is a good way to perhaps raise interest in a Ferrari conterpart!

Were these books merely photo books, or did they provide technical information about the cars and results tables for each race? I suspect that Smale's new book breaks new ground. It reminds me of Spurring's series of books on the race.

Thank you very much for this information! As the TR is one of my all-time favorite Ferrari, I am trying to order a copy - I say "trying", because it's not too easy with Italian websites only offering shipment to Italy and no international shipment options ... But I hope, my mail will lead to success ;-)

You can easily buy it from Luca Fornetti's Maranello Collection store (formerly Shopping F1) in Maranello.

    Good guess
Good guess, but they don't have it in their online shop. Neither does Gilena. Therefore, I wrote directly to the publisher.

Luca Fornetti has plenty copies!! Personally saw the pile yesterday. At least a dozen.
    And he delivers!
(Gilena doesn't have it yet.) The book came out yesterday 18th June 2022.

It was due to this forum that I got the early heads up on the then upcoming Miura book and was able to JUST sneak in with a last minute order, so personally I'm all for a few other non Ferrari books being mentioned here.
