I agree nowadays it can be very difficult to tell the difference..WITHOUT actually handling the item for weight and steel strength.
Most of the time unless you have a back view ...difficult.
Michys are a prime example.

If you have half a clue as to real worth then they can be a good thing.
I don't buy anything off the internet anymore.
I get offered genuine stuff mostly from folk I know or have been referred to me nowadays.

 

I bought most of this stuff more than 20 years ago.

The pneumo velo sign was the most expensive back then, about $1000 through a reputable dealer, so big lol if it’s fake

The Wakefield was through a dealer too, here’s a close up of the hole and bottles

There are numbers at the bottom of the Michelin shield, NFI what that mean

And that BP spirit sign is bloody heavy and enameled on both sides, I thought it was genuine when I bought it but will defer to your knowledge on such things

Well the pneu would want to be genuine then.
The BP is one of those that I was describing as having to handle to know...genuine will be a great thing,post sign.
So many enamel repro's are made with substandard 'wobbly' steel,very easy to tell from genuine.
The clock...hmm.
Michy is tin yes? so hmmm.

My two michys are enamel and both have the dates as well as those type of numbers on 'em.
I was buying from about '98 and sometimes learnt the hard way....

Are any of the enamel signs double sided?

 

The BP is double sided and was post mounted
