It was pretty hot outside when i drove yesterday and started noticing a nagging squeeking noise from the passenger side, my HVAC panel hasn't been installed yet so i couldn't control the fan speed.

I stopped the car with the engine running trying to localize the noise, opened the hood, heard if came from the evaporator unit and started diconnecting some cables and found that it stopped when disconnecting the wire to the fan inside the evaporator.

Might be some bearing on it's way, are these fans replacable and what part no?

Sounds like bad news. Even if you found good (used) parts, you would have to remove the whole evaporator unit.

I haven't seen any motor part numbers mentioned on the forum. The entire evaporator, if available new, will cost up to U$5000. There's a used fan/motor for sale here, but you may end up with the same problem.

I didn't get any useful hits for "borletti climatizzazione". I don't know if anyone has tried lubricating or replacing the bearings.

Either way if the bearings can be lubricated i need to get the damn thing out and that is a nightmare....don't know if i have any energy or motivation to do this right now, need to empty AC system of gas, empty coolant, alot of things for a damn fan....

Indeed... and there is a growing list of owners who are in the same situation.

I just took mine out because the drum jammed from old foam peeling off. While I was in there I thought I would install a new fan and was told they are not sold separately. I didn’t drain the coolant, just had a few plugs, caps and clamps ready. I placed plastic sheet and a few towels in the trunk and quickly capped the coolant lines, really didn’t loose any liquid. It was also a good time to clean out debris and dust and change the sensors and stepper motors. I also had a stripped gear in the drum motor from the jam. My evaporator box had never been removed before and the worst part was pulling the unit out as the adhesive foam was very hard to separate. I actually reinstalled the evaporator with a one sided foam to make it easier the next time.

It actually pulls forward through the trunk. If you take out the firewall trunk liner you will see the heater/AC box.

It seems there is a replacement fan blower you can source on the market, however i don't know the part number from Magneti Marreli.

I came over a blog post in Japan where a dealer replaced the fan blower but he didn't say where he got it from.

I wouldn't get too excited. That blog is 5 years old. I tried to find earlier messages which included the fan, but no luck.

I saw 9723 on the other fan, so probably not a part number. Maybe a date?

EDIT: DATA means date in Italian.

Looks like this may be the number but its probably Ferrari part number which is useless as they don't sell that part alone. Pretty sure the actual part number is under that plastic lip under "Made in Italy".

    Maybe @Brambleworth has it.

For the fan unit? The fan is a separate part , it seems it would have it own part number as part of a larger assembly. Maybe the fan unit part number is on the blower housing too?

But if you translate he writes that the fan he found is similar to the genuine fan, so he probably knows the part number....

Data is just the manufacturing date on the fan, we need to know what it says further down which is blocked by the rubber ring....

Why does Ferrari make it so hard for the community with older parts, if they can't supply thru their own channel they should release the part numbers, this is stupid policy....not even Porsche does this, if you want a part from a 60s 911 you just contact Porsche Classic and they get it for you.

Unfortunately, we don't have a lot of Japanese speakers on the forum. @ShineKen seems to know a lot about all things Japanese?

I sent FChatter Takewa Niwa a PM, to see if it's possible to contact the blogger, but I don't know if he's still around on the forum. He's one of the gentlemen who makes 3D printed HVAC timing actuator cogs.

I definitely don't speak Japanese. Just recognize car part words here and there after searching for parts for nearly 2 decades :).

    Ah, ok :p

It seems that anyone can post on this professional Japanese mechanic's blog, so I sent him a message (translated with Google). I hope the message makes sense. From my understanding of Japanese, I can see that Google Translate makes a mess of even the basic stuff. From his latest posts, he seems pretty busy, so I'm not expecting miracles.

Got response back from MAGNETI MARELLI, they say they don't have it in their catalog as a replacement to sell, so what ever motor is used to replace it by others its a compatible one from someone else.
