Can anyone help? I am looking for an original plastic glovebox undertray for a RHD Dino 246. Stupid me, I have installed the dash completely and now cannot fit a new rigid type fibreglass glovebox. The old type plastic undertrays were not robust at all but did "bend" a bit just enough to allow fitment. If anyone can help, that would be great. Regards, James.
Is the RHD the same as in the LHD? If that is the case, please pm, or alberto.guirola at gmail dot com. Regards, Alberto
Alberto, Thanks for the reply. The Dino 246 RHD glovebox undertray is different from the LHD. An original RHD plastic glovebox undertray, is what I am looking for. Regards, James.
Could you gain enough room to pull/lift the dash back a bit by removing the dash side screws and loosening the climate control wire connections in the front compartment?
The real problem is the dash vents that which hang below the dash. To lift/pull the dash back is nearly impossible without taking out the vents because the shallow rake of the screen prevents any access. I know if I can get an original RHD plastic glovebox undertray, they are a lot more flexible than the rigid fibreglass types that are being made today. Regards, James,
You are welcome James, good luck on locating an OEM plastic version, they are all so brittle and painfully delicate, I would not venture using one at all, unless only for gloves (stringbacks), as lighter weight Perhaps you have located a GRP RHD version? It can be potentially be altered to a reverse installation. If you have not located one, let me know. Regards, Alberto
You could just bite the bullet and pull the dash and install the glovebox tray. I have a list of my own mess ups I had to fix a lot worse than that!
A very old thread. We have recreated all the components of RHD dashboard, including the glovebox, and the vent tray that goes underneath it. If anyone is interested, please reach out for further details. Regards, Alberto
