And why can't we give Nelson Piquet the same courtesy? After all, he is a 3 times World Champion, and according to your rules his off track actions and words are irrelevant.

You mention rappers and groups, rap also mentions crime, doesn’t mean it’s “right” either. When groups use a slur among themselves, I don’t think it’s appropriate as well, but it often doesn’t leave any ambiguity on the context.

Since I don’t condone crime in rap music, I don’t say, well If a person is rapping about a crime, why shouldn’t I break the law too?

There are those that get angry when folks get called out for using slurs. Well, continue to defend the use of slurs loud, often, and as conspicuous as possible. At some point it’s pointless to argue one thing over another. It’s better to make beliefs as clear as possible.

He has a history of insulting mouth stupidity and appears the sport is moving beyond his style of idiocy lol.
THE SPORT OWES HIM ZERO! Certainly no courtesy. He did this to himself over time. Time is up lol Bye!!

It seems you don't get my message, so let me spell it out: Adrian Thompson claims that actions and words off the track are irrelevant and therefore Lewis Hamilton needs to be valued to his race results only. If we apply the same rules for Nelson Piquet then it also very irrelevant that he never has been very political correct (as all this was off track), the only thing that matters then is the fact that he is a 3 times World Champion and accordingly the sport owes him a lot.

Mind you, not my rules but those of Adrian Thompson.

Actually, @amenasce raises a good point. Lewis follows plenty of people in social media and hangs out with singers/rappers that use the N word constantly, even in ''a positive'' context so to say. If that's all condoned by him, why does Juri Vips deserve to be fired? Anyone that has seen the video of the incident can see it wasn't malicious intent. Kids listen to rap music and hear rappers/actors and so on talk and use the N word to greet each other in a positive way. Juri seemed to have done the same towards his (white) friend. Why did the world have an enormous hissy fit? I'm not condoning it but no one then should be able to use it, not only a select group of people.

When I lived in Rwanda, they banned the use of the word "hutu" and "Tutsi" (the Hutu having started the genocide against the Tutsi). Criminally punishable. No one was allowed to use it anymore to describe someone, whether it was of their own ethnic group or another.

Nelson's word was a) poorly translated by people that do not speak Brazilian Portuguese. I can perfectly understand people that used translate to see what he said and came to that conclusion. That's how the discussion started here as well and we waited for native Brazilian Portuguese speakers and so far, all of them said the same: It is not a word used with racist intentions. Nelson apologized to Lewis that he felt attacked by something taken out of context. Yet Nelson is still cancelled. People here freely keep going on how racist Nelson is based on false information.

Lewis is now campaigning for "old people" to be silenced in the sport, no matter their contribution. Yep. Those that actually bled for this sport, broke bones, permanently disfigured. Lost friends and rivals along the way. Get told to shut up by the king of virtue signaling. He's setting a dangerous precedent, and without a hint of irony.

But Piquet is retired and does not race. So is already irrelevant. LH is still driving, thus still relevant. He is also the most talked about person on the grid, even in a forum full of mostly people who hate him, he is still the number one subject ;)

Juri vips and Piquet are white peoples.
This is a problem obviously for the new ideology.

I get your point but have to disagree. Previous F1 drivers (World Champions or not) can be huge ambassadors for the sport, just think of Stirling Moss, Jacky Stewart to name a few.

True but the last thing Nelson is - is diplomatic or Ambassadorial lol! Class eludes him given his choice of language with respect to fellow or current drivers. Again the sport owes him zero and needs nothing from him!
He could learn a lot from Mika about demeanour as an example

Lewis is still driving? I'll admit I don't watch much of the races anymore and instead just skip to the finish. Maybe he arrives late?

    I fully agree on this,

However, I have a soft spot for outspoken (ex) drivers who don't care to be political correct, people like Niki Lauda and James Hunt in the past. This does not mean that I approve of everything they do or say, in some cases I even abhor of their private life style. It just means I strongly dislike the political correctness of today, where drivers are more corporate well trained spokesmen than individuals giving their own opinion.

People should be allowed to say anything they like - as long as it is not discriminating other people for their belief, race, sexuality or whatever. Anything. And it is up to their audience to agree or not, or even think it is utter nonsense. Freedom of speech and freedom of thoughts.

But imagine for a second everyone behaving like him.

Here's part of that same interview.....but this excerpt Nelson is taking about the Rosbergs (Keke and Nico) and Nelson uses the same "racial slur" again.

So here's the rub---> Where's the outcry from the media about the Rosbergs that Nelson used the same word to describe one of the Rosbergs?? Where's Nico and why hasn't he responded about Nelson's use of the "racial slur."

Racial slur.....please. This is a Brazilian Portuguese dialect that ONLY Brazilians understand and is not meant as a "racial slur." But no, everyone has jumped on the bandwagon because it's Lewis Hamilton and everyone has considered it a racial slur.

    I am with you there.

Drivers appear be coached to face the media, by the way they deliver their apparently rehearsed message without any spontaneity.

I don't watch interviews or press conferences anymore: they look so fake and stage-managed.

I like the way Mika behaves: discreet and polite. Typical Scandinavian, I would say, although Finland isn't part of it.

By a rule of thumbs, I find the more you go South, the more people are loud, volatile and outspoken.

So are you saying these people have some sort of privilege that you and I wouldn't be afforded bc we don't have the right skin? Somehow they have made millions of dollars talking about crime, misogyny and using words that are offensive and yet they have sponsorships and millions dollars years while you and I have to go through anti whiteness training..

I am glad you said it. Would I have expressed that opinion, I would have been accused of being xenophobe.

If it's of any consolation, the same happens in UK. It's a generation issue.

    BTW, Leclerc isn't French !!

I do. The Monegasques were up to the 19th century of Italian culture.
They became isolated from their roots when the French border was redrawn.
You must know that the "Comté de Nice" was Italian in the past, etc ...

I was joking because Charles Leclerc is a so French identity no one could believe he’s monégasque.;)
