Its upto the teams to innovate with in the rules, innovate out side them and you find it removed.

Sorry, but we are talking about inventing/changing/reinterpreting rules midstream to advantage/disadvantage particular teams.

No, what he is explaining is that when you constantly point the finger at Mercedes, the FIA will end up looking more closely at the accuser.

Well done to maximize the package today given how the race unfolded. I still think the car is needed to be parked and a new concept developed. Overall Mercedes really not any closer to compete on firm pace for a win.

I think this year is damage limitation for Mercedes, and that they are concentring their effort on next year's car.

But at one point, I thought Hamilton had a chance, in view of Red Bull failing and Ferrari strategy.

But the change is minor and is only being changed because the floor is not supposed to be flexing more than 2mm, as the rules already say this, its just being changed so the loop hole Ferrari and Redbull are using cant be used any more. every other team bar RedBull and Ferrari understood this already.

Its hardly stopping innovation when its technically against the current regulations to begin with, what is the punishment for failing to follow the regulations? dq'ed? They are getting off lightly to be honest.

Great race result to Hamilton. Even though he had bad luck with a SC, once again. He had newer(10laps) hard tires than Ferraris.

True, but look at the times. He cut down a 5 second lead in in like 2 laps. He was flying.

The gap was more or less 6 seconds when the safety car was out.

I think he means when Charles and Carlos were feuding during the first stint. Lewis was on point and took full advantage. As a result, he'd have challenged for the win if not for the SC. I'm as big a detractor as Lewis has got, and he was absolutely focused and on it today. He was also fantastic in the epic closing lap battles. Proves he can do it and do it safely when he wants to.

This. If the SC didn't come out, I would've put money on him absolutely taking it.

I’m open to be corrected; it appears to me the context was with Piquet calling him from Niger and a butt taker.

Yes, just like Charles Leclerc, I too agree this is old and archaic.

totally fine for you and others here to disagree with us. I know probably most of the world would agree with you that’s it’s okay to use slurs against whole groups of people.

If you see equivalence between saying an act is wrong with demeaning a whole race or creed, that’s certainly your prerogative.

I think tear gas will work just fine, that said I hope it doesn’t violate P&R to say that I’m a believer in peaceful protest for whatever cause.

I guess you didn’t see the latest news. I guess plausible for lightning to strike the same place 3 times.

I get it, some folks are mad that Piquet is canceled for not having a problem using racial slurs against blacks and gays.

I agree most of the world (especially 3rd and China) see nothing wrong with racism and discrimination against people based on who they find attractive.

I’m not saying you and others can’t either. I’m just glad Charles Leclerc and the FIA agree with me.

People can protest all they like but not inconvenient others. That goes for blocking roads, blocking entrances to buildings, or indeed sitting on an active race track. They all deserve a treatment and I'm afraid I wouldn't be as kind as you to stop at teargas.

If the great unwashed want to protest and glue themselves to the side of a building, fine. Inconveniences them more than me. But don't do stuff like this. A driver hitting them would cause serious mental trauma to the one that did it (despite it not being his fault) and all the spectators. And for what? These pricks have been banging the same drum for 80 years and been proven wrong time and time again.

I've not seen the latest news no. I'm going directly off what everyone was so upset about and nothing else. News coming out after the fact is utterly irrelevant because no one had it yet.

Regardless of what you think of Lewis from a driving perspective he was super impressive yesterday. I will also say that many other drivers showed fantastic racing abilities too and it is proof that the current crop of F1 drivers are among the most talented and accomplished group the sport has ever seen. We really are in a golden era of F1 although it will likely take decades to appreciate it.

Agree. Can't fault his race at all and IMO his best race in a long time. Can't fault his saturday comments either regarding booing.

Things as ever stay consistent though and managed to f it all up by supporting the stop oil lunatics and somehow managing to be wrong again on 2021 silverstone:p

PS did anyone see one of the stop oil lunatics is a carbon copy of Jeffrey Dahmer? Crazy breeds crazy I guess
