Great job,some paint tomorrow and finished. All I can say is if you have a marble fire place DON't pull it apart unless its a last resort .reason lining it all up that marble fire place is 8 pieces took hours to get it correct and than plaster to the wall with all the supporting wedges I was quoted around 7.500 to repair , instead bought a new insert and outer fire place deep back for $1,000 odd. Ta ,been a few years since I've had heat out of the fireplace ,due to the broken insert ,lazy I should have done it 2 years ago.. Just knew it would be a hard job ..
There’s nothing like the romance of an open fire… for me, they’re hypnotic and instantly relaxing. You’ll have to let us know how much more efficient it is with the new insert!
Far better much of the heat was going up the spout .On average I burn 2 ton of wood per winter , every afternoon I light a fire aound 4.00pm
drove us nuts lining up the marble mantel 8 pieces ,set 'em up plaster them together ..did my head in .
