Looking and can't see what your seeing .,and I'm not pulling it apart again .. The floor is not leval , your talking 140 year old timber sitting on beams of the same age sitting on crushed bluestone ,this area is know to move around , you could paint and fill a wall crack and a week latter another appears ..
ok see what you mean...been like that for 140 years , if you look at the corners of the wall and the marble feet fit in a snug area , its life .
That wasn't smiling sunshine, that was grimacing from not being able to adjust the straps to suit my nether regions! ......and as a result not being being able to reach for the bloody brake pedal!
I hear there are some ready built jobbys now, just stick it on the back of the Kenworth..drop it in place, fill up the back of the Kenny with prawns and Robert's yer fathers brother!
Yeah I have a female Murri customer/friend who keeps sayin' to me "Once you've tried black you'll never go back!"
1st fire since new insert and repairs , drawing the flame so well, mind you that flute goes up like 4 stories to a normal modern home ! So much heat . Its why you employ tradesman who know what their doing re fire place and surrounds.Nothing like decades of experience , my guy was 72 years old 40 plus years doing the job! Still to finish off sides and top of mantel with final coat of paint. My job as TA.. My greatest concern when the repair started was removing the 8 piece marble mantel that had stood their for over 140 years...And it NOT cracking ,which they can do .Its a slow gentle process removing a mantel. As Greg and Gazza will confirm nothing equel to living in a period home. Not as simple as putting an insert on a kitchen bench! Image Unavailable, Please Login
