Hi, For you out there space challenged like me; who are using a lift for car storage... Anyone has any feedback on these: https://www.wildfirelifts.com/car-lifts The single one seems to fit in my newly built garage, and I would like the option of having 2 cars in the garage in the winter... Any other good options that dont break the bank? Many thanks
Although the single post lifts are nice ..from a cost prospective a 4 post lift from atlas is a good way to go I have two in my family ..a little more intrusive but i like them ..you can also roll them in position if your garage allows Sent from my moto g power using Tapatalk
That is true ..once on lift it normally isn't the first car to take out Sent from my moto g power using Tapatalk
I can't afford screw them onto concrete, I like the option of being able to move them... as spring hits , I will not use it most likely anymore ....
What do you mean... I mean it won't come down until spring, I don't drive the Ferrari in winter It CAN come down though in spring.
The ideal is having a two car garage with one door with high tracks.. this way you can put on one side when not in use and move to center to work on it Sent from my moto g power using Tapatalk
There are many many options for 4 post that don’t bolt down, suggest looking for local installer for guidance Would also look into a side Jack garage door opener if you haven’t already
I like the single post lift for my townhome where space is at a premium, it is out of the way even a small 2-car garage. If I still raced or did more work on my car I would get an armed single post. Image Unavailable, Please Login
When somebody asks me about a lift, my first question is always what are you going to use it for. Given you are using it solely for storage, a single post is by far your best option. I have both a four post and a single post, and the four post was significantly more intrusive to the spaces next to it. In my new house I put it in the single bay with a sliding jack so that I can use for both storage and work. While the single post is by far the best option for storage, it is very limited when it comes to any work that you can do in the car. Image Unavailable, Please Login
I can only do a single post ; and only if I do a roll up door , no space if the door is typical space invading inside garage door... you know what I mean. I am installing this into a 12x20 garage... only option I had on my property; short of selling and buying a (+.5 mil) house in Newton. I'd rather have upgraded to at 488 instead
There’s plenty of brands. The hobby/home level stuff all seem to be the same/similar design and likely are all coming from the same overseas factory. Personally I’d make sure whatever I buy had ALI certification. The problem with not bolting it down is I found they tend to “walk” over time. You can bolt and still unbolt when you really want to move it around. I’m not sure why folks are saying you’ll never use the car on top. Literally takes a few minutes to move things around when needed. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Rob which model is this? I’m researching single posts … seems the install is quite hefty. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Same question, which single post lift do you have? How was install? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
https://aclifts.com I had mine installed 2019 and they were even a sponsor for awhile. They x-rayed the floor and all bolted in. I had some custom stuff done, they took 4" off the top and the diamond plating. It was about $8k plus $2k then, I've heard a rumor they are much higher now. Very high quality, I'm 100% satisfied.
Unfortunately, they are insanely expensive now. About 20-24k all in. They claim their steel costs drove up the prices. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I thought about ordering a second one and at the time they couldn't even quote me. Wow $24k I ordered mine 2020 during black Friday and was about $10k all-in installed March 2021
That is why I recommended a 4 post lift to original poster ...he mentioned keeping cost low Sent from my moto g power using Tapatalk
Thanks Rob! I just called ACL and got some numbers: $15k for the single post and $17k for the higher capacity (taller and 6500 lbs). I’ll get a metal drip pan and the Wider lift option (for Lambos and such). Install will be about $1-2k (will be quoted) and I need to get a 220V installed. Lead time is about 10 weeks. Super excited! I put a 240V ev plug on the wall and used an extension cord to power the lift. I just roll up the cord when not moving the lift. I highly recommend a Hubbell 14-50R socket and not a cheap dryer version.
Good to hear pos feedback on atlas 4post. I’m getting the ext tall unit next month. Will for storage and service.
