Hi I got a check engine light today for the first time today I turned car off locked doors and reopened and started it again and it went off. It happened 2 more times I did the same steps and it went off. I’m running a novitec exhaust with stock cats and techtronic installed in December. Without bringing the car in any ideas what is happening? It does come on and off not sure if others have it go off after the CEL comes on or does it stay on did the dealer clears it?
    Any help is appreciated

Use a diagnostic tool (code reader) to determine what’s causing the CEL (I.e. Launch X431 29e)

    Which one would you recommend?
If the code clears on its own would I still be able to see the error code on the reader ?

Yes, the code will remain in the ECU until it has been cleared.

You likely have the same issue I had with the Novitec. Only alternative is a tune to remove the error codes. Where are you located?

I got a CEL today as well. It’s my second in the past 2 months. I too have a Novitec race exhaust x pipe. Basically just removes the GPF. I also have the Tectronic plug in. As mentioned many times before, if I don’t follow a strict start up procedure, I’ll get the CEL. Both times, I pulled over, turned off the car, got out, locked the doors. Then I unlocked, got in, closed the door, put on my seat belt, pressed the Start button once, let the beeps subside, then pressed and held the start button to crank up the car. The engine icon disappeared after another 10 seconds and never reappeared. The first time it came on I started the car a little rushed and with my door open. Five minutes later the engine icon came on along with the Engine Control System Failure/Return to Dealer message. I really think it’s just the start procedure. No other issues and love the sound.

The car would not run, it would start and then quickly die to prevent damage, etc. Had Ferrari tow it to the dealership.

"pressed the Start button once, let the beeps subside, then pressed and held the start button to crank up the car"

    - I was told when I picked up my car the first day I always must start the car like this. I've never even tried an immediate push to start.

    Is your car a 2021 or 2022?

Yep, it’s not even necessarily an immediate one press to try and start it that fails, it’s doing the press to start (second press) too quickly after the first press. First press just turns on the systems. Gotta have them initialize, beep, etc, then press and hold to start. For me, I guess I rush the second button press sometimes which sets off the gremlins. Who knows.
