Doesn't matter how many times I glue my catches on, they fall off.... There are two fixes - buy new glass with holes and fit catches with a stud through the hole..... OR there are catches around with a neat U shaped plate that wraps around the window glass to hold the catches in position Does anyone know where to find /who sells them in uk/europe preferably??? Please!
One member sanded down the plastic pad the latch mates to when closed so there is not as much pressure trying to pop it off. Hardly noticeable. https://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/threads/wing-window-latch-adhesive.588237/#post-146332329
Third fix/real solution (same as in Daytonas): Re-adjust/-form adjacent window frame components to alleviate pressure caused by their inadequate fit & shape. Anything less is just a band-aid.
Is there a picture of this device? I guess a conversion to drilled quarter glass and latches would work, but might be overkill on my car. This device might be a winner.
Glue the latch to a metal washer of the same diameter and then glue the washer to the glass. This will lift the latch 1 mm away from the strike plate, so there is never tension on the latch. Eugene PS I have a few extra reproduction strike plates (3D printed). They're available on eBay or PM me here if anyone is interested.
I have used this approach, not using a washer but a solid piece of stainless and welded it on to the latch. I then glue with light curing glue and a purple curing light. So far so good. The Gary Bobileff latches are a good alternative. Just give him the thickness of your glass and he makes them to fit. A bit pricey but an easy solution that looks good also. I had 2 sets made recently at a cost of $1200 a set. I also use Eugenes strike plates.
