    Hi Marcel,

I have the Tony Merrick book (with a very nice foreword by Alain De Cadenet RIP). It was self-published in 2020, and at the time available from the now defunct website "www.merrickbook.co.uk".
The book is a real gem, with wonderful stories about his varied clientèle.
There is a review on www.velocetoday.com by Pete Vack, so contacting him may help.
Alternatively, the "[email protected]" may still work.
I have not seen it at Ben Horton's website, but as you are most aware of, he is usually the one to go to for hard to get items.

    Good luck,
    Mick

Having read a nice article about the 12C Prototipo book, I undertook a new effort to order it. By a nice exchange with the publisher I learned that the 113 euros shipping costs from Switzerland to nearby Germany include express delivery with FedEx, VAT and custom fees. Well, that sounds OK. I ordered it ;)

I hope the publisher has done some proper proofreading and editing of the book. The text of their website looks not very promising.

I ended up pre-ordering this book and received my copy today. As expected due to David Williams' involvement, the production quality is excellent. The book contains remembrances of several people who worked at or were customers of FAF as well as many photos from the era. While some of the content is already available in Prancing Horse back issues, I believe the book fills a unique niche in documenting 1970s & 1980s Ferrari lore in the US. A nice touch is a bookmark based on a reproduction of the iconic FAF bumper sticker. While the book is not cheap for what it is (approx US$50 plus shipping) I'm glad I got it.

Sorry to hear that. I know the person who handles phone orders is away on holidays for a few weeks but they should still be able to man and answer emails.

Glad you finally located a copy.

    Cheers

Few things are as frustrating as telling someone, in effect, “Hey! I’m trying to give you my money. Answer me!” And then being ignored.

I got mine a couple days ago and read it in an evening, thoroughly enjoyed it. Some stories are recognizable from PH, but there are some other good ones in there as well.

The story in the preface about being 16 or 17 and applying for a job at a Ferrari dealer delivering cars, etc., certainly brings back memories; I was that same kid in 1990, talking to Roger Andrey at Gaston Andrey West in Framingham, MA, about a job as a "lot boy" or something like that...I just wanted to be in that environment, and be around those cars.

    Great little book, IMO.

I agree and got the book this past week. Wish I kept some of their old catalogs. The stories about motorheads hanging out on Saturdays brought back memories of Oscar Koveleski's AutoWorld in Scranton, PA. He had interesting cars, books and models, and guys would show up with their cool rides on Saturdays. They still have a mail order model catalog. Oscar had a McLaren CanAm car he would run locally at the Giants Despair Hillclimb near Wilkes-Barre. One of the loudest cars I ever heard! Bought a set of Cibie fog lights for my RX-7 and they helped me install them. Cars, coffee and shootin' the bull on a Saturday morning in the late 1970s. RIP Oscar.

Jim Hunter and David Williams did a great job on their FAF book.
