Hello Friends Anyone experience a pressured from the dealers to increase the minimum amount of options for your cars on order, conditioned to processing your order. iI you didn't comply with extensive amount of options. If you don't have a minimum of 70.000$, probably Ferrari don't go to build this car Thanks
Find a new dealer. Total BS. There are some cars that have just 1 option. Actually if you look at Ferrari of Tampa bay they have a Roma for sale with electric seats as the only option. https://www.ferraritampabay.com/inventory/used-2021-ferrari-roma-rwd-2dr-car-zff98rna5m0263937/
I wouldn't be surprised at dealers recommending common options since if you ever go to sell it people will expect them. On the other hand some people really value cars with minimal options to reduce weight, although I don't think it's as dramatic as the old days when you could skip heavy things like air conditioning
My dealer didn't pressure me at all but just gave sound advice. I optioned what I wanted. I ordered it in March 2021 and received it in May 2022. F8 Spider. MSRP of $343,841 so not a highly optioned car. I love the car and I'm happy with the options I did order like the Carbon Fiber Race Seats! Dealer was Ferrari Philadelphia.
that Roma has zero option. electric seats are free on Roma. Having too many or too little options will most definitely impact the resale value of the car. for F8, 50K-70K is usually the norm. From my own experience, every time when I seek my SA's opinion on any options, "no, you don't need it" is the response I got.
Thanks for your input about your experiences But this its something new, received the phone call 10 days ago, the car are on deposit waiting for production. I know that in the past didn't happened. I had 3 Previous Ferraris and anybody pressure me about to increase options
Wow. I was impressed with 1 option. Now even more impressed with no options. That just proves the point that it’s total BS when the dealer tells you Ferrari won’t build the car with no options.
It’s nothing new and it’s your dealer trying to get you to spend more. They make a lot more profit and commission with the more options you add.
Part of a dealer's ranking with the factory (along with FFS financing percentage, customer service scores, and a couple other minor things) is based on options penetration. That's why they don't want a bare bones car going out. Ranking, along with historical sales, affects allocations. With three years of production essentially booked out, allocations are gold as they are a "guaranteed" sale. And yes, higher price = higher profit as well, no question. But factory standing can be more important to a GM in the big picture.
I owned a shields only 488 spider as second owner. Also liked at lusso with no options and declined. Sometimes bonus allocation cars can slip through the cracks as not specced by customers but by dealer and it simply wasn’t done. Stick to your guns. It’s not the factory. Order what you want and only what you want. Remember though the dealers can advance orders as they see fit within their lists and having a good relationship is important to the process and to your getting the car you want in the time allotted. I have no line of sight on the games but I’m sure they’re being played. What options do you have and what do they suggest you add? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I do not believe there is anything mandatory - Ferrari gives a goal to the dealers to sell as many options as possible, and dealers with the best average may be favoured in terms of allocations. But Ferrari refusing to build a car because it does not have enough options, I really doubt it.
Your dealer is trying to extract maximum dollars from you. If they have enough people in line to fill their allocations, you may end up getting skipped. But this isn't a Ferrari thing, it's your dealer bending you over.
Sadly every dealer no matter the brand or location has been bending over each and every one of us…with exception of the few.
Pure BS ... my brand new Ferrari has ZERO options, not even the fender shields. My bare bones 488 drives just as fast as a 488 with $70k of eye candy.
I think it is more corp. They look at each dealer and the cars being ordered. Dealerships with Low optioned cars are not looked at favorably by corp. Dealer will still let a customer order the options they want but will advise relative to resale if key options are missing.
Doubt much impacts resale time at present. My base 488 spider with only shields has traded hands three times since I owned it for escalating prices with a total of three weeks dealer time. It’s always the cheapest car on the market. And sells fast.
My dealer guided me through the F8 option selection process, explaining the features and benefits of each (including resale value). I never once felt as though I was being coerced into adding options I really didn’t want. I went from a meager $30,000 in options to a more moderate and satisfying $66,000, and all of the options that were added were solely of my doing. IMO to spend an amount in excess of $300,000 and not get all of the things you really want is doing yourself a disservice.
I've never been pressured, but that's cuz I have a bad habit of trying to check all boxes..lol My F8 has 170k options.
Speaking of options does anyone have insight on the “other options” line on the window sticker. Mine have 20K of “other”. Third owner so no idea what that could be. Have seen Other listed on multiple window stickers at various price points Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat.com mobile app
Other just means options that could not fit on the original sticker so every car will mean different list ..look at the build sheet or call your dealer and get the modis list Sent from my moto g power using Tapatalk
