Another impressive run by Newgarden for the win. The first four running Chevy power.

    nice run by JJ again

why they started the race at 4pm on a 100 degree day is beyond me. short ovals look better under the lights anyway

You don't see that every day: Two races on the same day in different open wheel series, one road course, one oval, and both had the lead driver out front have the rear suddenly break loose and put them in the wall.

Almost like the TV people had a "melodrama" button marked "let's make this interesting". ;)

As hot as it was in Iowa, was that reaction from the impact or from dehydration?
Those short ovals push the stress buttons.
I've heard of drivers getting motion (spin) sickness from going around the "Iowa Soup Bowl".

yesterday was much cooler than Saturday (mid 80's vs 100), but I had thought about dehydration/vertigo being Newey's problem vs concussion. his scans came back clear, but haven't seen an explanation beyond that

    odd when RHR is available.

I guess Penske would rather have the son of a shady financier than the son of a shady drug dealer

Crazy stuff. Even more reason to hope Newgarden can come back. He truly is one of the best out there . . . . perhaps even the best.
