One of these days, a GTC will cross the block for over a million dollars. I loved mine. I recently spent time behind the wheel of a Daytona. Fantastic car. But, if I had to choose, like Sophie’s choice, I dunno. I honestly don’t know.

If I recall correctly, A GTC Has already brought over $1 million. It was in an RM Sale at Pebble, I think around 2014.
I recall it was blue & recently and a complete restoration.
Perhaps Marcel or another F Chatter can provide the serial number

My 330 had factory air. It did a great job of cooling my right knee.

Remember this is a 365, not a 330. 600 330’s were made. 100 365’s were made. They are ALWAYS more expensive than a 330 GTC.

A 330 GTC went for $830k in Pebble Beach last week. But one sold for less than $550k in the last month as well. As we all know, it depends on the history, documentation, condition, the color, the shops who have worked on the car, and ultimately, what a buyer is willing to pay.

Well, there’s “Asking” and there’s “Getting”.

While I’ve sold hundreds of vintage cars for full “Asking” price (usually to quite captive audiences), my middle school dropout education and life experiences have made me believe “Asking” & “Getting” aren’t necessarily equal and often not even close (I’ve also bought numerous vintage cars for far less than 50% of “Asking” price).

OTOH, I’ve also always believed unquestionably relying on, let alone quoting, all auction (house reported) results is something intelligent people try to avoid.

Decades ago, that was the case perhaps (ignoring your comment/opinion about other peoples intelligence). But in the modern world where most of the big auctions are live-streamed, it makes exaggerated results reporting significantly less likely.

Perhaps I'm just not intelligent enough to know any better ;)

Well, with all due respect, but how does one know and/or verify that each and every lot has a “real” bid or buyer at the moment the gavel hits, especially when watching it off-site, “live-streamed” and not being consignor or the final bidder ?

I assume you don’t believe some bids, final or others before it, could come from the “chandelier” or some other unspecified (non-paying) entity in the “back of the room” or on the phone ?

Or that some (esp. highly publicized) lots having already been pre-agreed sold, but it’s the house’s best interest to go through the motions, just for the publicity’s sake ?

    Etc…

OTOH, I often wonder if my life would be easier, more fulfilling and simpler, if I didn’t question so many things in it.

Car has been sold according to Ferraris-online IG account. Price not disclosed but my guess is pretty close to advertised price if it sold so quickly. Happy motoring. AAAANNNND Timo shop rates for all experienced restorers will go up since you are now working on a million dollar Ferrari.
