Has to be technical directive. Ferrari's straight line speed didn't indicate detuned engine. Merc a lot better in the race than expected, but at Ferrari's level. RBR well clear.
Fred is my driver of the day. Gets 5th by finishing 6th without doing a thing and forces his way into Hammy’s blind spot, taking him out. Win/WIN.
Got to say, apart from lap 1, it was a pretty boring race at the front. Max carved through the field like a hot knife through butter. Crofty saying Max was helped by the SC but I actually think Max would've led the race even earlier if it wasn't for the SC break... Mid field battles where pretty good. Overtake of the race was Ocon on Vettel and Gasly.
Ferrari needs both RBR to get Corona in october and hope they can't attend for 3 races. And they still won't lead the championships then. Ferrari lost the races they should've won. They lost races they where losing. RBR on amazing form and the only race they lost by surprise was the Red Bull Ring.
Lewis admitted it was his fault (not that there was any doubt). Lewis doesn’t bother me much. Russell … great driver but can’t stand him.

I'm struggling here. "come in for fastest lap" "no thanks we shouldn't risk it" (very tight with Alonso, so a slow stop could blow it all) "box box" Speeds in pitlane, doesn't get fastest lap, AND was behind Alonso so had to overtake (though to be fair that did give him DRS so good S1 time). Lap 2 stop for the duct, was it too soon...I don't know. I can give them benefit of doubt on that one because one lap later may have been green already and lost more time. That sainz strategy though? Just made the race too difficult. I didn't understand it at the start and now even less so. Med Med Soft would've been possible and give larger margin over russell. Unneccessary but at least no point loss on that one.
Max's understated radio call: "Car is a rocketship" Damn, Alonso. Sounded like years of bitterness/jealousy came out on that radio call! How does Russel steadily pull away from LeC in last part of race?! Ferrari race setup that much worse than Merc's? Worrying to see the Ferraris bouncing around so much. Ferrari's attempt to get Lec fast lap was sad yet funny. Capped off with a razor thin but rules is rules speed violation that cost him a position anyway. Good to see Alonso, Ocon, Gasli and Vettel in the top 10.
