This argument does NOT stack up as you can see the exact time of the edit for 7 days in the bottom right, after the post, and therefore see that the content/meaning of the post has been changed after it has been replied to. Also, if the post or content in the post has been quoted, the author cannot edit their quoted content in somebody else's post.

Yeah. Checking timestamps in the middle of every discussion is just what 200,000 users want to do.

nope, I just showed you exactly what would happen if we allowed edits. we have rules here that have worked for 20+ years to make sure there is integrity of posts and users.

I too used to be annoyed by the short editing time window, but once it was explained a while back in the fashion like Yin just did about the reply chain integrity, it immediately made sense.
Now I often write a comment/post, but don’t actually submit it until later, perhaps not even in a day or two, especially if it’s about something I think as important and want to be clear about what I wish to say.

I would also point out that "pride" in one's posts doesn't necessarily mean creating a false impression of perfection.

Here's what that looks like (from a while back):

    Image Unavailable, Please Login

Here miurasv deleted post after post after post, so that he wouldn't leave a "Last edited by miurasv on ..." on his post. Instead his OCD resulted in entire pages filled with these "deleted post" entries as he struggled to get his posts just right. These footprints would have been much less obvious if he had just accepted the "last edited" tag. Everyone understands that discussion forum posters don't have editors and it's not a big deal to post a correction post facto.

Lol. How sad are you? You've got a file on me. ROTFL. None of those footprints would show in the forum so mission accomplished at the time of writing that post. :D

No. Anyone subscribed saw it. It was noted down because we were getting queries asking WTF you were doing.

You must have posted it in one of the subscribed forums.

Whoopeydoo. Poster/forum contributor edits post multiple times. Wow! You must lead very boring lives if that's what you discuss in those subscribed forums. :p I see you saved those edits with the title miurasv4 so you've got at least another 3 files on me. I'm flattered really. Knowledge is Power!

Not my screenshot and not my file name, so you're jumping to conclusions about how many files I've bothered to create for you (none to my recollection). Also, your multiple deleted posts were not posted in a subscribed forum as you suggest (they were YOUR posts after all and I don't recall that you've ever been a subscribed user).

Glad you finally realize that editing your post multiple times isn't a big deal. It's exactly as you say "whoopeydoo". For some reason you are OCD about your editing your posts and have been for years. But there is nothing wrong with editing posts, leaving edit tags, or posting corrections in a new post after your post edit window is closed. If someone sees that you had to correct yourself, take a breath and say "whoopeydoo". C'mon, just say it.

Second 500 TRC built, full matching numbers, factory red book certified, same owner since February 1987.
Taken today. Note the scoop over the oil tank, just three TRC's had this feature.

I couldn'd find a specific 500 TRC thread nor one for the 365 GT4 BB.

    Understood.
OTOH, since you seem to enjoy sharing your photos more now, perhaps you could consider starting/having a special thread dedicated to “Photos by M.M. (only)” or something like that.
That way even the copyright would be automatically covered.
    Just a thought.
