Suffering a huge bout of jelousy, FIAT friends have just landed a container from Europe - Fiat Dino spider for her; Abarth 1000 for him! (not a couple, just Fiat mates). Both additions to nice little collections...

 

Pretty amazing that you could make a not-so attractive car worse by ‘improving’ it.

 

What sort of 1000?
600 or,850/1000 coupe or sedan?

Not that it matters if they're genuine

Definately a 1000 but not sure of body shape, I haven’t seen the pic since they’re on FB .
Pretty sure it’ll be genuine, guy knows what he’s doing. He already has a genuine 131R.

 

He has brought in numerous cars and knows what’s involved; but it may be painful none the less...

 

Is the asbestos certification still required up there?

It's being inconsistently applied in NSW.

 

Don’t know - I seem to recall there was lots of stuff needed when the 131 was brought in...

His 131 was/is a honey,if so.

 

No, that was a standard (albeit perfect) 131. The one I referred to is an Abarth racer correct from the period.

 

Umm not wanting to get into a tit for tat,it was absolutely an R....unless he built it into one.He had it for sale briefly for $18k some years ago and sort of offered it to me.

The R was only an 'addon bits' car,the real magic happened when Abarth waved their wand.....a bit like my M535i without the M5 engine.
