I read the manual and watched the video. Warmed the car up well and tried to launch my new 812. No go. Car stopped, foot on brake, engage first gear, press PS button. Throttle to floor and take foot off brake. Both times the car stayed in first gear all the way to the rev limited which then did what it does and cut power. No gear changes, no warning symbols on the dash. Any ideas?

The PS will not change the gearbox setting you are in. If you are in manual, it stays in manual. If you are in auto, it stays in auto.

You must change up after launch.

For max. braking :- pull and hold back left gear change leaver and brake as hard as you can, the car will change down giving maximum engine braking.

I’d suggest putting it in auto when you do PS starts

I’ve never done a PS, to me it seems such an abuse of gorgeous machinery.

If you ain’t abusing it, you ain’t using it. Or something like that :D

I’ve only done PS a couple times, and it’s more to satisfy the demands of a passenger during a thrill ride. Kids love launch control, and I’m happy to show them because I am also a kid

Dont you need to be in race (or higher) mode?

I think the DCT cars can handle it pretty well. It is supposedly much more hard on the single cutch F1 cars.

I think people's definition of abuse would differ. But this is a factory setting so I dont think proper use on occasion would be abusive. I think I figured out the issue. In my old Huracan the computer did the shifting once you let go the brake. However in the Ferrari the driver has to upshift before redline.

The only mode you cant be in is Wet. Doesnt matter race, sport, ect on or off..
The shift times are better in Race.
