On a more serious note, is that really how they mounted the radio?

 

I thought when they first advertised it some years ago it was about $1.2 mill.

 

No, it's meant to be a shallow (usually Becker) head unit which inserts lengthways into the console.

The clock on the RHS doesn't look original either.

 

Needs some red paint .

 

Looks totally out of place MG and an unusual colour for the leather steering wheel but it looks original

Red interior does my head in but Gaz and Steve would be in love

 

The carpet is lovely but the rest is a bit much.

I think you will find most Aus delivered got Voxon 8 track as Lowes were agent for them.

Yes no chrome trim ring.
They are hard to restore, even today, back then I guess a close replacement was done.
I have 2 restored originals and neither keep time !

 

Howard, here's the car to which you refer in your post when new, on the W.H. Lowe showroom in August 1971. #14111. You can see no radio is fitted as yet.
(As an aside, such a shame that car was re-trimmed. A new low in automotive vandalism).

Here' Ian's old car #16599 two years later pre-delivery at W.H. Lowe in late 1973, no Radio as yet either.

Why do you think that way when the chief concors judge tells an owner of a Dino with an original vinyl interior that he should re trim it because the car was painted (in the original scuro blue) 35 years ago?

They are only original once.
