Stood next to the prototype on the Ferrari Campus. In camo. I love it. Good presence and nice stance. Of course that was just the prototype/mule.

No picutres obviously due to the stickers over my phone.

And I saw the 812 replacement mule in person from 1 meter away. Looks good. Not too Roma ish in person.

Lots of money come from toys/hats/bags/etc.

The namesake we all love (well, maybe not all here) cared about racing foremost. I mean, just look at what the Ferrari stock ticker is.

I mean if this is false, the old man would have quit F1 and wave away Fiat in 1969.

I mean, you're right in a way. I can't definitely 'prove' Enzo would have loved this. However, making conjectures based on historical facts is stupid?

I've laid out why I think my opinion is an educated conjecture.

Instead of proclaiming what I say is idiotic, could you tell me why Enzo would not have liked this?

    ***

It always seems to come back to folks' insecurities about anything other than their own beloved car in their garage being better. (full stop.)

No doubt a necessary evil to survive. I may hate the idea of the Purosangue but I get why they are doing it. Lol, still feels shameful though. ;)

Just make sure that the slope you travail has sturdy steps.

Some folks said it was evil to:

    have 4 seats
    go fuel injection
    have a station wagon
    AWD
    remove stick shift
    add stability control
    add computers
    add air conditioning
    add catalytic converters
    add PF
    sell to Fiat
    hybrid
    sedan prototype
    use fake vents
    manipulate the exhaust note
    go turbo
    Dino
    add power seats/windows/roofs/doors
    all-electric
    hatchback

    -----

All that matters is if the end result is thrilling and fast. What do I have to be embarrassed about if the PS is faster than the Cayenne GT and Urus?

If I don't need space/utility - an easy solution, I don't buy it. It's not like this car is replacing the 296, nor did the Macan/Taycan prevent the 911 GT2 RS - in fact I argue it's because of the SUV/Sedan that Porsche has the money to make any darn car they like. (not to mention the return to Formula 1?)

I'm talking about all the cheap, toys and crap clothing, etc.

At the end of the day Ferrari has every right to sell whatever the hell they want, be it gaudy fashion or soccer mom SUV's. Whether it dilutes their brand heritage or not is inconsequential to them at this point. I understand and support that it is all about their bottom line.

Lol, if any of us don't like it we are always free to go the Pagani way and create our own company to make our point. :)

I guess that’s where we disagree, I don’t think the Macan diluted Porsche, on the contrary. Nor did I ever think the LM002 ever diluted the Contach?

the Lotus el Camino :), I mean Europa the exige? Elise?

    the SLX the NSX?

    The bronco the Ford GT?

    the F150 the Vette?

the Mercedes L319 the 300 Gullwing?

    Land Cruiser the LFA

    Pathfinder to Godzilla

I can go on and on and on….these Purists need to take a deep breath and realize the train left the station decades ago.

    ****

hell Horacio already said he’s thinking about an SUV, heck Koe has a 4 seater. Aston, Mclaren, Rolls, Bentley, even Lotus.

One of my favorite bands, "The Killers," comes out with an annual "Christmas" album. It's totally off-brand and usually funky. I will not whinge about it if it makes them additional money. I don't think making a Christmas album 'dilutes' their brand or makes them less edgy, pure, hardcore, real, honest, (put in whatever adjective here that denotes their 'bonefides')

In fact, I say more power to them. Hope the money they make on it helps with their next album.

Guess you've never heard of Richard Bremner

    Or Harry's modern historical recreation:

OMG the "Horror" - some owners actually 'drive' their cars in hard-core environments.

What 'poseur' fakers, miquetoast owners, aren't 'legit 'Ferrarista' - they have the gall to buy an SUV.

To think? To dare even drive their car on anything less than cars and coffee, or a mirror smooth road.

Folks should just stop and think about it for a sec and see if they understand the whinge is ironic to the fullest.

Before folks bust out their measuring stick and assume, "I've gone soft," I will be in a Challenge 488 GT Modificata in Sonoma TOMORROW.

    The car that destroyed Lamborghini....

After this car came out, Lamborghini - fully diluted....

In fact, that collectors pay $400,000 and up nowadays is a mass delusion.

Because of the above car, Huracan, Aventador? Garbage.

Especially the EVO and later SVJs, I would be ashamed to own any of them. Lest I be pigeon-holed as poseur that 'sold out.'

    How dare Lamborghini?

Cars, like all art is subjective. There is no right or wrong here. Sorry! :)

No matter how many snarky comebacks you throw in your replies it all boils down to some people like vanilla and some people like chocolate. :) You are no more right or wrong than the next guy. ;) Sometimes it's fun to share and read contrasting views. That's what these discussions are about and that's why we are here.

Thankfully we all have our own unique views or the world would be a boring place! So snark on my friend and have a great day at the track! :)

P.S. I'll be in my truck towing a boat to the backcountry tomorrow ;) What do I win? :)

Just like the $300 billion gaming industry. They keep releasing remake after remake and then re re makes of the same game just looks a little prettier each time lol.
Some people love it some hate it. Either side you take the fact remains, the Game developers only do it and continue to do it, because people keep buying them.

should have put a smiley so that my remark does not appear harsh...
I don't know if Enzo would have liked the PS or not, but I'm sure of one thing, he would have hated losing control of his business, of his work, with the stock market listing without being in financial need.

I've seen harry garage & that was one of my favorite episodes. However I'm not too familiar with Richard Bremner, the automotive journalist.

With that said I'd just Ferrari or some independent team to compete the vehicle with some off road events like the Baja 1000 or Paris Dakar rally, events like that. Someone will build it eventually, it's just a matter of time & money. Remember the Jerrari?

    Well said.

I'm not telling anybody they have to love the Ferrari SUV (or any car for that matter). Especially if they hate it because of how it looks.

But this whole 'purity' thing gets old quick.

    That SHIP HAS SAILED.

But folks will still want to out-chest pump him in 'purity.' Folks here should get back to me when they're driving the F1-75, then I will say, yup - they are the genuinely hard-core Ferrarista purists, and I'll shut up.

    **

Yet folks will still whinge about the SUV (or electric, or hybrid, or Flavio,....) easy solution=

See you, and have a nice day. Enjoy your stack of CDs and VHS tapes - Seriously, I'm happy for you.

Good point; I get what you're saying. But some video games are truly novel. I don't see the SUV as a recycle if the performance is a new benchmark. That's why I'm hoping it's the fastest SUV in the world.

    ***

I know many people that genuinely LOVE the FF/GTC4 Lusso (me being one of them.) I was behind one that was absolutely destroying a 360 on track at Laguna Seca.

Ironically, wagons and hatchbacks are seen as 'true' street enthusiast cred in the racing community; see Randy Pobst. Breadwaggon/van anyone? hello?

I also love the Gulia, M5, and 'the horror' - the hybrid La Ferrari and Porsche Macan Turbo

Hell, folks in the past would have hanged me if I said my favorite 'Ferrari' is a Dino (until it was cool and suddenly became a 'real' Ferrari.)

This hatred is pretty cute when you peel back the layers and clearly see the root cause.

    :)
