I have a 2014 California and when I got home today and turned the car off, the fans would not shut off. I had to pull the negative battery terminal to stop it from running.

Has anyone ever experienced something like this? Does anyone know where the cooling fan relays are?

    Thanks

How hot was the car? How hot was the ambient temperature?

How long did you wait before disconnect the battery?

I thought fans run after shutdown if the engine was above a specific temperature.

It is a very cool morning and temps on radiator were low. I waited about 20 min before pulling battery cable as I needed to get to work.

I will need to deal with this when I get home. I took it for emissions and when I got home the fans stayed on.

I stressed about this all day after pulling the negative battery terminal to shut off the fans and head off to work. I tried reattaching the cable when I got home and the fans turned back on immediately.

I did a bit of research throughout the day and found someone else who had similar issues. The solve turned out to be quite simple. A tap on relay T15 and T16 (cooling fan relays) released the stuck internal components and the fans turned off.

I ordered new relays from Riciambi and that should be the permanent solve.

was just going to post that it's a stuck relay. there are a few youtube videos on this very issue. Thanks for posting the relay part info, sounds like something we should all buy ahead of time and keep handy for when we need it, cause it's a matter of when not if.

Thanks to all who posted. I just experienced this problem the other day, however the fans turned off after I got back into the car and turned the ignition on/off. But, as stated above, it is probably a matter of when, not if. So, I, too, ordered a set from Ricambi - new part number - 233100. Red in color. Came to $60 with shipping and tax for two. Thanks again...
