Hi everyone, new on here and not too clued up on wheel fitments. I’ve just bought a 355 and looking to mix it up a little. My question is I have a set of carbon wheels off a 488 pista not doing anything will they fit on the 355 ok any advice would be greatly appreciated. It’s a f355 berlinetta in giallo fyi
488 wheels aren't even close. I would stick with the stock 355 wheels, they're beautiful, light, and look right on a 355. If you switch, at least stick with 18" wheels.
Fitting 19" wheels on a 355 gives a modern touch to the car without denaturate it. 20" is too much for my taste. I love this Japan car above, when it is at ride height an inch higher.
Well, well what can you say? this must be the perfect F355 in my world, stunning.... Image Unavailable, Please Login
Ohhhhhhh it's something alright. Stunning is just not what comes to mind. Sent from my SM-G990U using FerrariChat.com mobile app
Language barrier being from France. "Changing its character" is the intent. Many over seas use Google translate to convert language text. Things get lost in translation is all.
I get the intent from the context, sugar, but “denaturate” isn’t an actual word so I doubt google world have suggested it. Anyway, not the point… just odd.
No google was used here, I learned English at school, just my mistake. Of course it was "without denaturing it".
Ahh, “dénaturer” is a French word, translates to distort, looks like he used a French word. Points for effort. What's actually odd is not the language its liking a stanced 355. I do however LOVE the CBB CH wheels on these cars, 348 too. Looks REALLY good on a 348. I have a picture somewhere let me see if I can dig it up.
Convex wheels just do not work, need concave or slight dish. Hard to get on the front but easy in the rear. For 19/20 in wheels these old HRE's looked fine. I'm one of the few who think 19' look great but you have to pick the right wheel or all bets are off.
Good definition “change its character” cause you will destroy the handling! each to their own i guess.
I like lowered cars, but I 'm not fond of a f355 or a 348 on the ground with max camber on rear wheels like this one: Image Unavailable, Please Login ). I think it looks ridiculous! The 355 above looks much better when at ride height an inch higher like on this video before dropping the car: . I like those wheels too, except the offset is wrong and they're too wide for the tires. But otherwise it is a good choice. Those Japan guys know how to modify their cars: (sorry it is in german)
The problem with concave wheels on a 355 is they aren’t period correct. Outside the hotrod world, no one, and I mean no one, was making concave aftermarket wheels, especially for a car like the 355, until ADV.1 came around in about 2009/2010.
Who cares if they looks good on the car? I think this japan guy guy made a good choice, those BBS wheels suit the car.
They won’t. Modern wheels will generally look trashy on an classy old car unless they are made to look vintage, like these. That's just your opinion. Let me have the right to not share it. This black 355 looks much better than the poor 348 you showed us just before. I love this japanese 355. Maybe a little too low, and just a little too large, but you know what? I always loved the 355, but it's because of this guy I bought mine finally.
So you’re allowed to share a strong and definitive opinion, and I am not. Gotcha. Image Unavailable, Please Login This you? Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat.com mobile app
