I agree, but the right have more than their fair share of mistakes:
    - destroying TAFEs and Tech Colleges and bringing in ‘private training’
    - abandoning the Housing Commission
    - privatising ANYTHING but especially power, water supplies
    - privatising disability care providers
    - making childcare a government funding responsibility
    - negative gearing for people who don’t have a tax liability

And they won’t change because there are way too many vested interests making bundles out of this; few would vote to change any of these things

I'm further right than Genghis Khan, but I have always thought that roads, energy and water should be government owned. Also communication infrastructure - private companies can lease it, rather than having multiple sets of mobile phone towers, etc.

    Socialist !!!

But I agree to a point, but communication costs dropped incredibly when we finally got competition (do you remember the old days of putting money in the public phones ?) , road costs went up with tolls, water is stupidly expensive thanks to the stupid water grid labor put in along with the white elephant desal plants.

Have all the competition you like on the infrastructure, they just can't own the infrastructure. Toll roads should have an end date, and be government owned

I see nothing wrong with government (tax payer) owned infrastructure, health care, education, and “justice”/criminal system. However, unions should be abolished for anyone taking tax payer money. Let competition thrive and civilians compete for contracts, including service contracts for education system for example. Once unions are abolished, competition (mainly through accountability) can happen.

Regarding infrastructure, Imminent domain has historically been an issue in the USA so that would need managed well since $B corporations utilize imminent domain wrongfully.

It’s important for us to not immediately fall victims to politician’s and media’s manipulation. It seemed we quickly went back to identifying ourselves or others as right Vs left. Identity/bi-partisan politics is an incredible issue, if not the biggest issue. It lets politicians run rampant because the voters are more concerned at labeling/insulting the other party vs looking in the mirror and holding their own accountable. I am more prone to insult the party I vote for.

Example, the average republican is pro-tyranny, bootlickers, pro-big daddy government protecting us from terrorists. They’re bootlickers allowing the degradation of our rights. Example: blatantly corrupt, for profit, hypocritical, unconstitutional “justice” system. Unionized police. Armed govt servants flying a bastardized American flag on vehicles and uniforms on duty. Cops/“justice” system are far more likely to steal property and kill me then terrorists and yet republicans give free reign and immunity from laws/constitution/accountability to protect us from *check notes* terrorists.
    Unconstitutional:
    Civil forfeiture
DUI/Seatbelt/citizenship checkpoints when short on felony arrest quotas for state and federal funding, to stop all people to check for warrants
K9s to search anyones property whenever they want by claiming false hits
    Excessive No knock warrants
Stingray usage (police are 24/7 operating airborne equipment in GA planes that poses as a cell phone tower, they scan and download all data)
Criminalizing verbal insults of police or filming them
Immunity from 2A restrictive laws; active and *retired* cops are immune to 2A laws on the books. Many active cops I know have dept full-autos at home and use them in civilian gun competitions with unlimited free tax payer ammo
Curfew laws to stop and ID anyone having to prove they’re over 18 years old
Hiring 3rd party intelligence providers that have rights to monitor communication on phones via popular apps

#1 cause of death of cops is hit by cars and #2 heart attacks. If they cared about their safety they’d wear bright yellow and life alert necklaces. Their cars would be visually marked and not blacked out, unmarked, with tint so dark we can’t see a uniformed cop. Hell, they dress and act like mercenaries in Iraq.

Dems call me fascist and republicans call me a liberal. I went to a 2A rural community meeting after Biden was elected. They said UN was going to come to USA for door-to-door confiscations. I said that’s ridiculous and gun ban would generationally occur over time, as it has already. Then they’ll arrest you and confiscate property during excessive road blocks and traffic stops. We are all monitored so they know what guns and ammo we buy to identify who may have banned items. If door-to-door confiscations occur, cops would execute it. The sheriff and most people obviously disagreed and called me names. Ironically the sheriff keeps his departments 6x6 APC in his private barn and off roads it drunk with buddies. The sheriff also said he’d shoot his “[email protected]” neighbor and his dog in the cross fire during gun confiscations and the whole room laughed. It’s so sad seeing how hypocritical and ignorant many people are. I also said how stupid it is that 150 men are meeting on a rural property and not protesting. They didn’t invite me back lol.

I guess my point is, reasonable people are f’d unless the average person comes together regardless of their dominant voting pattern/party they identify as, and march in the streets together demanding change and accountability of our government. Imagine if the left and right marched together… hell, that was happening and police intentionally caused issues to break up protests; many undercover cops were caught on film breaking windows and lighting fires. The government is not our friend, at least the current one…

Before anyone labels me a “defund the police” idiot, let me clarify. If modern police/“justice” system/government were British red coats, we’d have a revolution. We’ve been brainwashed to think they system is here for us. It just needs dramatically revamped. Cops are a product of the system, so is the average criminal to their impoverished communities but we unanimously agree to come down on criminals hard. I do not support individual cops either because that job is their choice and all cops I know bash the system but keep doing it until eligible for retirement. Criminal for-profit (their salary) hypocrites. Cops need to exist and funded by government/tax payers but it needs revamped.
Cops have 2 options, only 2:
-enforce every law to a T (plenty of illegal, unethical, immoral, and unconstitutional laws on the books)
    Or
-pick and chose what laws to enforce, to who, to what degree, and to follow themselves. This is what virtually all cops do. They have near immunity so they get away with it.
Either option, they’re criminals and hypocrites.

My point in all this is, I may dominantly vote Republican but I’m more than happy bashing “my party.” Voting a lose-lose right now. The people are to blame for being at each other’s throats more than politicians.

The govt is running rampant… It will only continue.

People are focused on near irrelevant issues compared to the grand scheme of things. Most issues people bicker about don’t affect the ultra wealthy/powerful/corrupt, like many politicians. The government’s natural path is to inflate and get more power. That’s dangerous… eventually people will be helpless and any social issue we care about is mute because we have no voice/vote to change it.

Often with someone I do not know well when the conversation turns to politics I set out a ground rule.

"If you are here to argue one side is all right and the other is all wrong we have nothing to talk about".

They get elected, make a mess and make a career out of getting reelected to fix it with too few differences between parties.
